I don't know about a whole set or the books in Arabic. I guess I'm not much of a help LoL...But I have two volumes of the English verions and I paid around $15 for each book.

Check dar al-Fiqar’s website. Their books are very cheap (in terms of price I mean) usually a few US$ for a book that would sell for like $50 or more here in North America.
Generally their books are pretty accurate, I have yet to seen one of these edited texts,(you know one of the ones that they sort of forget to tell you they either added or deleted a portion of the text) coming from this publisher but that does not mean you should not be wary of that possibility.
I have Imam Nawawi’s Ithkar from them and it is unedited unlike many other versions which have the section dealing with the visitation of the prophets grave removed.

Sr. Deen, if you can read arabic, and you haven't bought Mukhtasar Minhaaj al-Qaasideen (by Ibn Qudaamah) yet, I'd really recommend that you buy that instead of the Ihyaa.

As far as I've heard from different people, it's better and less controversial.

Wallahu a'lam.

Wassalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah.

P.S. Mukhtasar Minhaaj al-Qasideen is a summary of a summary of the Ihyaa.

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM Br.Arsalan;

Inshallaah, I have asked one of the sisters who went for hajj to pick me up a copy of mukhtasar minhaaj al-qasidin in arabic.

However, i generally like to read both the arabic and english book at the same time (since my arabic isnt amzing- I read them at the same time to make sure I completely understand- I find they complement each other)> Unfortunately, the translation of mukhtasar minhaaj al-qasidin isn't that good, and i think it may even be an abridged verion of the actual book (mukhtasar minhaaj al-qasidin ).

Howvere, i often read the english versions of the ihyaa books by TJ winters, and i find the translation is awesome. I often come by words of wisdom i would love to memorize in arabic, or concepts/ words i would better be able to understand in arabic... and that's why i'd like to buy the arabic ihyaa... and i also hope within the next few years i will be able to read it...

make sense?

wassalamu alaikum,

den :-)

as salaamu alaykum wa rahmatAllah,

as far as I know, all of TJ Winter's translations of the Ihyaa are under Islamic Texts Society, and they are soo expensive.. they range from like 25 to 50 bucks each book!!

you can check out what's been published by them so far here.

Unfortunately, sister, I am not an Arabic speaker :( yet!  So I have not read the book.  That is why I said in my post that I have heard from several people that it's a good book.

Sr. Deen.. $50 for the Ihyaa sounds expensive.  I recently got someone to buy me Sifatus Safwah (by Ibn al-Jawzee) in Arabic for less than $10.  (I gave it as a gift to an Arab brother, again I am not an Arabic speaker :)).  That book is two volumes, and I had it bought from Saudi Arabia.
