Assalaaam Alaikum, to all Brothers and Sisters, the Amazing Audience, Spectators, and the merely Curious. Welcome to Nigeria!!!! To the home of the amazing poetess Nana Asma'u. It is her poetry of Islam that has led us all t he way to this tiny house in Africa - to our finish line. We started out with 19 teams and I'm proud to say 10 teams have crossed the finish line here. Congratulations to all the contestants that participated in this Amazing Race around the Muslim world. I know you're tired and hungry, so guess what!!! We're flying everyone to the Muslim Maldive Islands for some rest and relaxation among the tropical palm trees and halal drinks! [] And special congratulations to our winner: Team Dynamic Duo (Zahid & Wired-up) It was definitely a tough game and you guys pushed yourself the extra mile to win!!! (Please send your home base address to Phil for the prize.) I hope everyone learned something in their journeys and plan to travel again around the Muslim world to discover things old and new. Thanx everyone for watching. See you next year... on the AMAZING RACE!!! Phil 8) |

MadinaWire Nigeria- Ten weary teams crossed a tiny finish line in Nigeria yesterday. The teams of two had been participating in a 7-week race around the world. In an amazing turn of events, all teams were eligible for a bonus point if they reached the final destination within a 24-hour time period. "I think that's what totally turned the tables for us", said AbuHamza of Team Texan Duo. "If it hadn't been for that we could have won this race!" Winners from Team Dynamic Duo disagree, "They're obviously sore losers, they lost because they took a shortcut at destination #3. If they hadn't taken that fast forward, it could have been a different ending." 19 teams began the race, but only 10 crossed the finish line. Phil, host of The Amazing Race, explained the difficulties. "A race like this is very complex. You have to be a seasoned traveler. They had to ride camels in the outback, take the Hijaz railway into Makkah, cross through Communist China, enter Jerusalem under cover of darkness because of the guards, face blizzard conditions in the Arctic Circle. I mean all I had to do was get on the Amazing Race private plane, but they had to cross borders and take boats and taxis and even walk at times." Experts too seemed to be surprised by the game outcome. Sophia, winner of the last Reality game Who wants to be a Mu'min? said she was shocked throughout the game's turn of events. "I couldn't believe it when Se7en and Panjul didn't even reach destination #1. I know a lot of people thought they could go all the way. Then the journey to China I think just confused people, because they got there but didn't know where to go! And finally towards the end that praying in the Kabah thing. The clue must have just threw them because it wasn't that difficult." Abdul Basir of AbdulBasir I won once and I'm a stayin' a Champion could not be reached for comment. A spokesperson for the company said that Mr. AbdulBasir was under treatment for PRDS. On sister show "The Amazing Audience"; audience members were at the edge of their seats, said host Himy. "It was a real nail biting experience. We oohed when the teams visited the Dome of the Rock, aahed when the teams had ice cream in Damascus, booed when they tried to bribe their way into Makkah, but the best part was when they crossed the finish line. I think then we all cried and hugged each other. Excuse me I'm a little emotional here...<sniff>." What do the winners plan to do with the prize? "Well, we really haven't thought about it said Wired-up. Maybe put it on our wall?" |

Woohoo.. we won. Alhamd'lillah :) "I would like to thank my producer, my director ..." Oops.. wrong speech. Jokes apart, I had a lot of fun and learned a lot of things (sometimes not even directly related to the question). Moreover, now I'm not shy to ask some wayfarer what the best place to eat Pizza is or some stranger what the name of his daughters are :D I'll turn it over to my partner, the brains behind the proverbial brawns, Wired-Up, to say a few words :) Jazak'allah khair Sr. Jannah for the experience. |

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah Wabarakatuhu:) YAY YAY YAY ...WE WON!!!!! We WON!!!!!!!I dont believe it ....I'm Soooooooo thrilled and overjoyed and ..and...out of words .. Alhamdullilah hir rabbal Alameen :)... Sis Jannah, JazakhAllah Khair for organising this superb Adventure !!I got the opportunity to travel to lands that i could never have even imagined exploring ...Subhanallah :) I fell sick during the race and couldn't keep up ....I missed a coupla questions in between .But Bhaiya Zahid found the answers to them and sent them .If i wasn't teamed up with you i would prolly be eating ice-cream with pepsi ..with panjul and se7en. ::) JazakhAllah khair ..Actually broZahid coaxed me into being his tagteam "pardner" in the race and did most of the hard work .I think he deserves to Win .Alhamdullilah . You know what guys? I feel a bit philosophical .To describe my inner state You know how we aim for Jannah and all .....Maybe if we hang around with ppl that are themselves jannati (destined for heaven )we might sneak into heaven as well .Not on the basis of their deeds but the fact that in their presence we suddenly become so aware of Allah (swt)and practising in our Deen. I feeel like that pairing up with broZahid ..That even though I definetely didn't have what it takes to win ..(or even participate ) he constantly encouraged me,discussed puzzling questions and kept the tempo high . 8) Having said all that i'd like to say to bros Abu hamza and Bulwark ofIslam... "Winning isn't important ...its participating that counts :'(:P" Seriously though...My heartiest congratulations to everyone.Participants ,Audience ,well-wishers and Phil :).Without you this game would not have been a (cyber?) reality ..:) Wassalamualaikum Warahmatullah Wabrakatuhu PS:Jannah this is wayyyy coooler than winning any oscar or nobleprize even ...i 'm soo happy ,alhamdullilah :) |
