| [slm] On to the next project for the kiddies: The Emigration to Medina. Is it allowable to bring a couple of doves into a social hall at the Masjid? and... I just read in Islam Q&A that the stories of the doves/spider in the cave hadith may be weak. Can anyone shed some light on this? and should I just not tell the kids this part of the story? |

| [slm] I think as our dependence on internet sources grows, our scholarship declines and Islam turns into a black and white thing. Anyway there are many authentic seerah books that mention the spider etc.. and kids usually love it when you tell them about it :) |

| [slm] I have been thinking alot about the doves. A friend of mind has a couple and I thought it would be a great visual. Our Masjid is very conservative and I asked because I had no idea and thought maybe someone else might. I did not want to approach the "men" if the answer was absolutely not! We thought we would have the kiddies build thier own little mountains of Thwar and give them doves, nests and spiders to attach. Now my concern is about figures.... |
