| Dubai |By A Staff Reporter | 03-03-2003 Ali Al Hashimi, Religious and Judicial Affairs Advisor in the Presidential Court of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, acknowledged the UAE-India time-honoured relations. Addressing a ceremony to mark the 10th anniversary of the Dubai-Indian Islamic Centre, Al Hashemi said the anniversary is a testimony to the growing relations between the two countries. Al Hashimi also hoped that the organisation will be an example of lasting relations and tolerance between different communities, religions and peoples. India's Ambassador to the UAE K.C. Singh said there are 150 million Muslims in India and what is good for Muslims all over the world is good for India too. "India seeks to play the role of moderation between religions for mutual co-existence. India without Islam would not be what it is today. We are a pluralist and crucible society. Politicians will play their games but it is important to find a common goal between different communities in a pluralist society." |
