| [slm] Does anyone know the dua for travelling (i.e before driving)? I ran across two different duas and don't know which one is authentic. Jazak Allah khair in advance. Aisha |

| Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullah, I'm not sure which one you are referring to exactly. 2 du'as come to mind. Hope its useful, inshaAllah. Pardon the Arabic. Difficult to spell the right pronunciation in romanized alphabets :) This is the du'a when U [/u]board a vehicle.[/u] [color=blue]Subhanalazi sakharah lana hazaa, wama kunna lahu muqrineen. Wa inna ila Rabbina lamunqaliboon.[/color] Glory to Him who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves). And to our Lord, surely we must turn back. (Surah 43:13) [u]Du'a when setting out for a journey (safar).[/u] [color=blue]Allahumma bika asool. Wa bika ajool. Wa bika aseer. Allahumma inni asaluka fi safari hazal birra wa taqwa. Wa minal amali ma tarda. Allahumma Hawwin alayna safarana haza watwi 'anna bu'dah. Allahumma Antassahibu fissafar. Wal khaleefatu fil ahl. Allahumma inni a'uzubika min wa'thais safar. Wakaabatil manzhar, wa soo ilmunqalabi fil wal maali wal ahl wal walad[/color] O Allah, it is with Your help that I struggle, move and walk. O Allah, I beg You in this journey, virtue, piety and deeds which r acceptable to You. O ALlah, make our journey easy for us and shorten for us its distance. O Allah, U r the Companion of the journey and the Guardian Protector of the household. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the difficulties of this journey, and from disagreeable sights and from unpleasant return to (my) wealth, household and children. There is no strength and no power save with Allah”. Bismillahi,aamantu billahi, wa tawakkaltu allallahi, ma-sha-allah, la haula wala quawwata illa billah. “O Allah! Protect me and protect what is with me (my possessions), and deliver me (to my destination and delivery what is with me the best of your delivery. By Allah I commence (my journey) and by Allah I seek to accomplish (the purpose of my journey) and by Muhammad (s.a.w.) I have set out (towards my destination). ‘‘O’’ Allah make me overcome all (my grief); and make easy for me all difficulties; and give me more of goodness than I hope for; and keep away all evil of which I am apprehensive for my health.”” “O the most Merciful”.
