| [slm] Bros.. :)...Now really if their was a parking lot 4 women only they would 1)All reverse park or parallel park 2) All cars would be very CLEAN and have strawberry and vanilla emmanating from it 3)Car park would be very orderly 4) Parking tickets would have " thank you and have a great day " with little flowers and stars around it!!! :P :P :D :D |

| [slm] If other women drive like me...I gotta admit....that lot is pretty dead on. I had an accident while parking my car the other day. Then I waited an hour for the guy to get back, so that I could explain to him what happened (his bumper looked a little loose.) He started laughing so hard...he goes "dont worry it was like that anyway." And there I was, nearly in tears. At least the weather was nice. :) Wasalaam. |

| [slm] In the past year, I have gotten into 3 car accidents. 1 my fault, the other two very serious ones were not. Once, while picking up my sister from her friends house, I backed into their mailbox. While driving on the highway, I almost flew off the highway and into the air and traffic 15 feet below, but on the last second veered back. I have gotten 4 tickets. I drove on the Median, (isn't it what's it called, the grassy area separting the lanes?), and freaked out so bad that I kept driving over it and screaming.....then it ended and i was back on the road. I'm the perfect driver now. Really. And considering that my brother knoked down a chevron station when he was...get this.....*backing away*...... my driving record speaks for how good it is. (the chevron guy turned out to be a hindu that we sort of knew and so he didn't sue us. Poor guy generously took the expenses on himself.) P.S. I would like to take this oppertunity to make a irrelevent point to this thread... why is the women's section so boring????? I have'nt visited in ages..... and I guess I'm not the only one cuz I see the women in here way too much than in their own section! |

[/quote] Never claim perfection for urself. I mean it, specially in driving. People run into accidents even after 20 years of perfect driving (i-e no accidents, tickets etc.). I started driving on my US license in October, 2001, although I had been driving since before that, but on my Pakistani license. My cousin challenged me that I'll very soon have a ticket (He himself has a very good driving record........err...........I mean tickets' record :P. he has gotten quite a few tickets) and I challenged him in return that InshaAllah I wont have a ticket till at least 2 years. Alhamdulillah 'ala kulli haal :), no tickets yet, and just 6 more months to go to win the challenge. I was caught once for over-speeding. Was driving 57 in 45 zone. But luckily had my doctor's coat and a whole lot of medical books in my back seat. So the officer let go me with just a verbal warning. Since then, my friends make fun of me that I am "abusing" the doctor's coat :D. Wassalam. |

| Well, I guess if any of you were near my vicinity you would avoid most of the roads that I take because I am a 42 year old who is practicing her driving after driving school. And add to that my being a woman!!! While taking my driving lessons my boss asked me what time a I would be on the road. I asked her why, because she said: I want to avoid that road till you are off it!!! But, there are expert and excellent women drivers who would make Bhaloo eat his words. Halima |

| HEY! I think it was me who actually caused that pile up in the picture :-[ :-/ Talkin' about this reminded me of when I went on my road test at the DMV. I was doing great but then as I got to the DMV building, I stopped at the light cause it was red but at that instant I got all confused and thought you could turn left on red ( Ya I know -- turn RIGHT on red, duh, lol) soooo I did! :-/ I must have given the guy testing me a heart attack cause he almost freaked out while taking over the steering wheel and jamming on the breaks. lol. Fortunately there were no close oncoming cars, heheh...yea I failed, but it was a nice memory :) |
