In joy we meet, in cry we part -------------------------------------- http://www.jaihoon.com/egoptics/separation.htm "What I like not is parting From the loved ones, But what to do, Nothing in this world is forever." O friend! You have indeed Spoken words sounding wise They clearly testify to the splendor Of your Him-fearing eyes The pain of separation to bear is really hard Even the best of joy keeps us in a state sad Ah! Imagine the pain of the Lord's Beloved [saw] When from him Lady al-Kubra suddenly parted Ah! Imagine the pain of shade-like as-Siddiq Where else but with al Mustafa [saw] could he company seek? Ah! Imagine the pain of the old and blind Yaqub Yousuf's separation forced his eyesight to tears succumb Ah! Imagine the pain of Musa's frightened mother As she floated her child in a basket across the river Ah! Imagine the pain of love-filled sage of Rum The setting of 'Shams' filled his life with gloom Ah! Now imagine the pain… Of this very Jaihoon! Where would he for any hope run When this world's evil he wants to shun? The pain of separation to bear is really hard Even the best of joy keeps us in a state sad Therefore pay real heed to what Prophet [saw] did say So that from such a painful state you may far stay "Endear whomever you wish to love But a day will come when you shall leave!" Thus all those who in joy meet Shall one day in cry separate! O friend. I leave you with a clear message That you may remember at a later stage "Kindly pray for your silly comrade When in the Qabr he begins to reside!" - JAIHOON http://www.jaihoon.com/egoptics/separation.htm Notes Lady al Kubra: Khadija al Kubra, the blessed wife of Holy Prophet- the first believer.
