Fiqh Da'wah from the Qur'an Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood: "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). Surah As Shuara:10-15 Fiqh Da'wah 1. Allah taala tells us of how Nabi Musa a.s feels when he received the commandment of Allah, and henceforth, the responsibility of da'wah. Nabi Musa felt fearful and anxious of this great task. 2. It is natural for a da'wah activist to fear and worry of the responsibility and amanah of da'wah that is placed on his shoulders. These sentiments are not alien to us such that even a Prophet of Allah, a man of strength and courage feels the same way too. However, a da'wah activist must strive to follow the example of Nabi Musa such that he does not let this fear to haunt him to the extent that it becomes an excuse to distance himself from da'wah work. We usually come across da’wah activists who would refuse a task due to the same feelings of fear and anxiety. Often do we hear them say "I am not ready", " I am ill-equipped", "This work is too much for me to handle", "I'm not qualified" and many others. 3. The truth of the matter is that such feelings are natural and is a part of being human. What is necessary for a da'i who is facing such situation to examine things objectively vis-avis the importance of the work as well as how he can contribute to make it successful. Such feelings must be overcome as exemplified by Nabi Musa a.s. One of the ways to conquer such feelings is to talk and pour our concerns and heart out to Allah, because Allah is the Changer of Hearts. 4. Observe how Nabi Musa pours his heart out to Allah. He did not ask Allah to relief him of the amanah but he sought Allah's help and assistance to complete his task successfully. This shows that Nabi Musa did not try to run away from the task, quoting his weaknesses as excuses not to implement it. Rather, he sought support and assistance. Therefore, when we are facing with difficulties in a task due to our own weaknesses, pour our hearts out to Allah and implore for His help. Do not give up and run away from a task without trying our best. 6. To do da'wah work, in all levels, one needs self-confidence. A da'wah activist or a da'wah movement will not be successful facing the Pharaoh of their time, as how Nabi Musa did, if one is not confident and has no assurance of himself. A 'timid' da'wah activist or a da'wah movement will not create history and will not be competent to lead the banners of da'wah. Therefore, whosoever or any organization that has the aspiration to play the leading role in da'wah has to build their confidence and must instil such confidence in its members and those who are under its tarbiyah. 7. Da'wah activists who feel satisfied by merely "playing by the side" throughout the journey of da'wah has yet to internalize and manifest the commendation to compete amongst themselves and strive the utmost endeavor in doing good deeds. 8. Allah taala promised Nabi Musa refuge from being killed by Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and He kept to His promise. Eventhough Allah taala do not give the same promise to all da'wah activists, but He has promised help, assistance, support, success and a great reward to those who strive in His cause and He never breaks this promise, of His. [slm] When I received this from Muhammad Haniff Hassan it wasn't in English and I couldn't understand it. :'( Did you translate it? Jazak Allah khairen, its very nice. (Asy-Syu`ara : 10 - 15) Fiqh Dakwah 1. Allah taala menceritakan perasaan nabi Musa a.s ketika menerima perintah dan tanggungjawab dakwah. Nabi Musa a.s merasa gerun dan gementar dengan tugas berkenaan. 2. I also pass along articles to them. |
