| [slm] if you listen to the radio (say BBC FIVE/LIVE) or watch tv say BBC1 or whatever, you find that whenever muslims voice their frustration or their anger, or what they want it always boils down to palestine, palestine, palestine, palestine....and nothing but palestine....except now people are a bit worried about the muslims in Iraq....because there is nothing but iraq on tv right now... WHAT ABOUT MUSLIMS ELSEWHERE????? do people really believe that if the isreali/arab issue was settled in muslims favour and that that if bush really isn't a mass murderer and actually gets rid of saddam with few casualites and really does install a representative government that the muslims problems would be settled.... i think not....in fact, after thinking about such things for many years i think that these headline issues are just a ruse of shaytan to divert muslims from the real issues... muslims in africa are starving....literally starving...but no muslim leaders speak up about this...there are no khutbas about this...where is the muslim parliament's declaration about this....!!! even if we ignore the millions starving to death in africa, there is still at least 7,000 muslims in asia and elsewhere who are dying everyday because of malnutrition and malnutrition related diseases...think about it... what is the real problem in the muslim ummah...zionists...or mismanaged resources, corruption, hunger and poverty..... also people seem to go on and on about how barbaric american and britain are and how they are the greatest threats to muslims and islam...but in reality they are absolutely benign compared to the real threat to muslim -- that of BJP India. i remember when the gujarat massacres occured -- nobody in the mosque had much of a clue about it. the khatib went on for months about the injustices of the west and oppression of the palestinians -- not a word about the massacres in gujarat was made for months -- and only then at my insistence.... why is the murder of a few thousand muslims in gujarat so important ? because 250K people were driven out of their homes, and the VHP and RSS have vowed to replicate this "experiment" all over india....that is a very very very scary thought....imagine the nazis except a 100 times worse....and not a population of 10 million under threat -- but rather 180 million under threat.... equally alarming is that the BJP government has declared that it is going to kick out 20 million !!!! illegal aliens from West Bengal....meaning they are going to ethnically cleanse West bengal by pushing 20 million muslims into Bangladesh...can you imagine !! Nothing like this has happened since Stalin, and nothing like this has ever happened in a democratic country.... This is a declaration not made by some nobody, some nobody terrorist -- but the head of the Indian goverment. (Mr Advani) Where is the muslim reaction to this...where are the muslim protestes???? of course there are none, everybody is thinking only about what's on CNN or the BBC -- that is palestine, palestine, iraq and iraq.... recently i went to protest rally at the first anniversary of the gujarat massacres. we were protesting that fact that some hindu terrorist organizations have charity status in britain and are tax exempt. do you know how many hindus attended the rally and how many muslims? there were less than a dozen muslims, and many more hindus. until the pious muslims who go to the mosque and who represent their communities understand what the real issues are and what the real problems are, muslims will suffer and i believe they more than deserve to suffer....if the pious folk with big beards and long skirts and impressive degrees who daily ask "...ihdinas siratul musaqim ..." several times over, cannot figure out what's going on...then ordinary folk like us can do nothing but wait for the coming massacres in which we will killed or jailed or banished from parts of this earth. |

| [wlm] and [slm] can not agree with you more brother but do u think that its a good idea to put the blame on ... u said and i quote [ the pious folk with big beards and long skirts and impressive degrees who daily ask "...ihdinas siratul musaqim ..." several times over, cannot figure out what's going on...then ordinary folk like us can do nothing ] well if u meant that as the scholars/moulana Hazraat have a forum, forum as in the khutba desk... then u r right but still we must keep it in mind that Qur'an Sunnah and Hadith are not only for bearded men and hijaabi/niqaabi sisters.. we all are responsible for our short commings as an ummah plz dont get me wrong... the points that u raised are perfectly okay and all of us must give them considerable consideration ! | Salaams, For those in the UK I know some brothers who are very strong in this work whether it be india against the racist BJP or in Africa. Let me know and I'll see how I can help you. Above all we Brits should be working together at least on some dawah projects, think about it. Salaams Hanif |
