| [slm] ya ikhwaniy wa akhwatiy Sometimes just when you think humans cannot surprise you anymore something happens that proves how debase people can be. In Iraq, people are killed and dying and wounded, Iraqis and non-Iraqis, and yet, others are already starting to rub their palms together in greed and anticipating the many ways they can squeeze the Iraqis dry. Now, I normally try to be temperate but really, this just makes me feel so ashamed to be of the same species as these creatures. Indeed, they remind me so much of vultures, encircling a wounded animal of person, waiting for that animal's/person's death to reap its gains. Astarghfirullah. There are already talks that the US will make claims from Iraq to the tune of billions as payment for cost of war once they gain victory. I just don't know how to make sense of this. The US claims that Saddam is evil. He uses money gotten despite sanctions for his own good. The US claims that this war is for the liberation of the Iraqis. The US invaded Iraq without any invitation nor permission from the Iraqi people. Now, those same people who have denied wealth during the accused despotic rule of Saddam have to be further deprived of further money by the very people who wanted to liberate them. They have to pay for a war that they neither wanted nor started. They have to pay to the very same country that pronounced and effected the death decree on their very own kith and kin. Some kind of liberation. Before war, you have nothing. After war, you end up with loss. The worst part, to me, is not the claim by US but rather the claim by Kuwait. Kuwait claims that Iraq owes it billions of dollars for the first Gulf War. Uh huh...wayyyyy to go Kuwait. You kept quiet when your brothers and sisters were killed without even attempting to provide humanitaian aid. Now when your brothers and sisters are at their lowest, you stomp on them further and demand money. And yet.....and yet, you call yourselves Muslims. Astarghfirullah, Astarghfirullah, Astarghfirullah. For those of you who want to argue that the US deserves to be compensated for the cost it bears, SAVE IT. The US attacked Iraq because of 1001 reasons. At the very last, the US claims that the attack is in the name of freedom and democracy. YOUR democracy because this sure ain't freedom for the Iraqis. So, since you attack Iraq with your high-flying ideals you pay the price of peace cos the Iraqis have paid for it, over and over with their lives. You mentioned hospitals and schools et cetera. Leave their money alone so they can realise all your grand plans. And if by this post anyone assumes I am another anti-American Muslim...w-h-a-t e-v-a-h ! As for Kuwait, Allah Knows what He Knows. My only prayer right now is that this is just another rumour in the mill. Because if this turns out to be true, humanity has really reached an all-time low. Sigh...I have chest pains at this moment. SARs being a threat at home, then having to be so disappointed from this. Astarghfirullah. Wassalam. |

| [slm] awwww habibty...know that we are travelling through burning coals, our only respite is in the Remembrance of Allah, our only hope is in our eternal abode...Jannah. Inshaallah. Know that the Iraqis are not dying for naught. Inshaallah their blood will testify for their supreme status on the Day of Judgement, their souls will be encircling the throne of the Almighty, green birds of Jannah till then. In our limited perception we claim them to be dead, in the vastness of the Allah's creation, they are celebrating His glory, yearning to go back for the chance to fight yet again...and die as Martyrs for His sake. The duah of the oppressed never comes back unreturned. Allah's justice is infinite and it knows no temporal status or wealth. These people, that claim to be humans, are indeed celebrating their muted successes on this earth. They are devastating humans, lives, the environment, and the very lands they claim to be liberating. Yet their plots are so flimsy! Allah exposes their lies everyday, and its for the discerning few to see through the intricate webs of propaganda they are so busily spinning everyday. They might "win" the war, and take over the oil, strategically placing themselves in a hot area to take over the world politically and economically...But how long are they really going to live? The very top master minds of this war machine are living on life supports (read Cheney ::) ). No matter how many leaflets they keep throwing around the Middle East, they will never be able to diffuse the eternal fire that burns inside the hearts of humanity, they will never be able to suppress the voices of consciousness, and they will forever struggle to maintain their delicate balance fighting with their obese bodies, dead brains, and shackled hearts to keep floating on the undercurrents that are threatening to explode the very earth with its growing pressure. Who could ever guess that Fir3aun, A'd and Thamud would ultimately fall? Who knew that Rome would cease to strike terror in people's hearts? Who ever thought Hitler demise would be such a shameful feat? Who predicated the end of the Mighty Soviet Union? Have the dictates of time not taught us anything? It is Allah's promise that whoever arrogates himself above creation will surely be debased. The rise and fall of such great empires as Mali, Songhay, and the rest have left nothing but ruins in its wake. How deaf, dumb, and mute are the current oppressors of this earth, not to think that they will eventually fall in the most debasing, and humiliating of ways. How desperate are they to convince us of their goodness....How pathetic their pleas would sound on the Day that no wealth, children, or status would cover up their heavy worldly dues.... The downtrodden of this earth would be gracing the abode of Jannah and when they are asked whether they faced any pain, discomfort, or displeasure before they would remark "By Allah, no! We have never tasted any pain before"...and when the wretched ones are steeped in the blazing torments of their deeds, are asked whether they have ever tasted true joy, bliss, and comfort before..they will Swear that they have never enjoyed what it means to be truly happy. This temporal abode we are in will last but a day, and when we are asked of our time here, we will remark that we never tarried but an hour or so... Time is relative, my dear sister, and so is this illusion we are living. Only Allah remains when all is gone, Only His Graciousness, Mercy, Beauty, Light and Face is eternal while evil is but a shadow that is soon going to be dissipated. Do we not believe in Allah? Our hearts should not be constricted, our souls should not weep, for we learnt from the laps of Ayyub (A.S) and the walked on the steep path of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), we drank from the wisdom of Sulaiman (A.S), and wept the repentance of Adam (A.S)... We know the bitter sweetness of beautiful patience, that will coccoon us through the tragic manifestations of time, till the explosion that will swoon all of creation, into a defeaning silence.... Till the explosion that will surely right every wrong.... The day of Ressurection. The day of Sorting. May Allah make us among the blessed, the Loved, the Righteous, the elite...May we reside on the thrones of bliss where this earthly life will seem like yesterdays passing cloud. Indeed, I am so ashamed, so very ashamed that we humans have repaid His Mercy and His Bounty with nothing but depravity. Indeed Sis, I am now still wiping the tears of my face as I once again realise how small and helpless I am. I thought that the cries of a newborn child represent the sounds of helpnessless. I was wrong. Indeed, my silent weeping resonates loudly with the knowledge that I and me, am nothing but just His unworthy Creation. Ya Allah.....forgive me. Thank you for your words Rainbow. That might not be a bad idea in your situation Panjul, as your driving skills are really bad. :D But seriously, I was reading about how Europeans are boycotting American goods as well as the far east. They interviewed some people and one was saying that we hope this hurts american companies and makes them wake up and tell their government to get their act together. |

Dont worry sis Umm Wafi... we can do as much as we can do..its all in Allah (swt) hands. this life is temporary and this is all a test.. ... i agree with everything except one of the claims of Sadaam being evil, I agree... you hear it from the iraqi people themselves.. but the US is not any better. It makes me double upset that when the people are so oppressed that the other 'Muslim' countries just havent taken action. If they had kicked Saddam long ago then maybe atleast the US wouldnt have to make that excuse. in Quran it sais to bring justice and fight oppresion. instead they sit there and watch and also help the US. but hey the past is the past... we have do the best we can in the present so the future is better, inshAllah. Allah knows best. |

| They export OIL. That might not be a bad idea in your situation Panjul, as your driving skills are really bad. Well Duh! Should have thought of that. No comment on the driving there, hey i learned a new skill! changing the oil. i mean, they don't export carpets? dates?? Not that ppl shop for carpets every day. (except my dad. he buys carpets and wraps them up and puts them away! cuz we have all the carpets a floor can take in our home) Seriously, i would not buy kuwaiti dates. that's all i can think of. If they had kicked Saddam long ago then maybe atleast the US wouldnt have to make that excuse. Yeah, i know. look what happened to bhutto in pakistan, they hung him when he got brutal. and then what was that other dictator? who's plane was blown, the circumstances of which still aren't clear. gosh the name escapes me! was it ziaul-haq? (doesn't haq mean justice?) |

| Assalamualaikum Hey Panjul I was wondering about a thing . Why do you want to boycott kuwaiti goods ONLY?So for example there are four murderers called USA ,qatar ,saudi Arabia and kuwait .Will you pass the verdict hang kuwait alone because they are the ones who lend their land for the crime to happen ..But let USA and the rest who supported and are equally guilty go scot-free..well coz ....Just because...errr i don't know why ??? If muslims living in the US are asked to boycott US goods because of Americas crimes against humanity the american muslims are going to laugh and say that's ridiculous .We can't implement such an impractical idea .But the same people are wiling to boycott another country 's products because that's ever so convenient man.What sort of double standards is that??? Wasalaam. [/quote] [slm] I understand your point. I dont know about boycotting other countries but I do know that boycotting Israel goods is important and not the US. I do live in the US, this will affect my family and friends. Another reason is because the second largest religion in the US is Islam...more and more convert to Islam each day. ..Alhumdulilah. So boycotting US u will be hurting the muslims while boycotting Israel you will be protecting the Muslims. and Allah(swt) knows best |
