One day the earth will be changed to a different earth, and so will be the heavens, and (men) will be marshalled forth, before Allah, the One, the Irresistible; And thou wilt see the sinners that day bound together in fetters;- Their garments of liquid pitch, and their faces covered with Fire; That Allah may requite each soul according to its deserts; and verily Allah is swift in calling to account. (14:42-52)[/i] A poem sent to me by someone: [color=black]shock and awe you fill up the airwaves with your double talk your voice never falters as you sit with war hawks indoctrinating a misinformed public with your airbrushed smile while you awe and you shock and this is what you mean when you say let freedom ring shattering the silence of masajid's morning prayer with bombs blasting through and the sound of suffering weaving your way through innocent lives thirsty for vengeance your eyes on the prize and innocents blood drip drip dripping on the earth and desperate men and womens tears stream into the dirt swirling into complex patterns, seeping into the baghdad dust and yet you shine your medals for dajjalic cameras to see and say in God we trust so good you even brainwashed yourself into not seeing their homes and lives and hopes and dreams and you cruise in the night though DC streets in the backseat of your limo drinking back jim beam monuments erected like idols in the distance blinded by not your eyes but an inner lack of conscience your demonic nafs numbing you to reality of existence in a dream world concocted by keeping your fitrah distant got your back covered by corporate wolfs just like you intoxicated by the deliciousness of politics and power. but you've come to forget that there will be a day when the sweetness of your existence will become sour numb fantasy will be broken and you will know then how it feels to be weakened like achilles with your actions at your heels that day this earth will be replaced with another and your complex infrastructure and your long winded dossiers explaining away murder rape and sin will be dismissed like every other and you will be questioned for the movement of your tongue and your limbs Allah will ask, Whose is the dominion this day? His question will silence every noise, Crumble all to the ground, every creature destroyed Humble each particle of existence that puffed up with pride untangle every kinship with which we liked to be tied each of us naked and alone to stand before His court no bribery or deception in this judgement of God And I believe with certainty that you will that day understand what it means to be shocked and awed. and the earth herself, witness to such horror who absorbed the blood of bilal's and maryam's, and abdur rahmans who drank in the tears of those calling upon God in the depths of night with their faces humbled She will be called upon to spurt forth what she holds inside and she will not forget a single human soul who suffered at your hands and the tigris and the euphrates whose shores gently rocked the cradle of civilization will testify to each drop of blood that reddened their clean body flow and each piece of dust upon whom marched young boys fresh from highschool, young thugs in fatigues will proclaim the horrors it has seen with it's eyes in this sick and gory show shattered men and women whose voices you always silenced and muted even the cries of their agony and pain will speak this day with no fear on which to choke and on this day they will step forth their torn off limbs replaced with wings their rags replaced with cloaks with golden gleams and you will be humbled on the day your excuses will not pass your throat.[/color] |
