[slm] For this verse: 048.029 Muhammad is the apostle of God; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other. Thou wilt see them bow and prostrate themselves (in prayer), seeking Grace from God and (His) Good Pleasure. On their faces are their marks, (being) the traces of their prostration. This is their similitude in the Taurat; and their similitude in the Gospel is: like a seed which sends forth its blade, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it stands on its own stem, (filling) the sowers with wonder and delight. As a result, it fills the Unbelievers with rage at them. God has promised those among them who believe and do righteous deeds forgiveness, and a great Reward. Does anyone know of the verses in the Taurat and the Holy Bible the Muslims are mentioned? thanks Ameera |

Assalamu Alaikum The Taurāt (Torah),and the Injeel (Gospel) are NOT in the bible. The bible has been tampered with. And in fact God does not speak of the bible, but of two different revelations here, namely the Torah, and the Injeel. Furthermore, the words "bible", "Old Testament", or "New Testament" are nowhere to be found in the bible itself. And the "old testament" and the "new testament" are NOT the "Torah" and the "Injeel" And when you say bible, you are aware that there are many versions of the bible( i am not even talking of different translations). You have the Protestant bible, Roman Catholic bible, Anglican bible, Greek Orthodox bible, Coptic bible, Ethiopic bible, Syriac bible. Each one of these Christians claim they have the real bible. So as you can see,Christians do not even agree on which one is the "real" bible, because each of these bible have different books, and/or verses in them. For example the catholic have 73 books in their bible, while the protestant have 66 books in theirs. It is so obvious that the bible has been tampered with. So, to reply to your questions: even if this is not mentioned in the present bible(s) it is of no consequences whatsoever. |

There are many places within the Hebrew Scriptures describing people bowing or prostrating to God and worshiping Him. As for the NT, it could be referring to the "parable of the mustard seed" (ie: Matt. 13:30, Mk. 4:27). Is this verse suggesting that Muslims are mentioned in these scriptures? Or is it saying that in all three sources, through an example/parable/lesson, *believers* are characterized as those who are compassionate, who seek God's good Grace and Pleasure, and are those who bow to God? Any thoughts? With peace, Nistar |

[slm] the words "bible", "Old Testament", or "New Testament" are nowhere to be found in the bible itself. No the word Bible does not appear in the Bible itself. It is a Greek word meaning a 'set of books.' Testament is a Latin word. It means to witness, to leave a will. So Old Testament, it the old will, the old witness from God to mankind. And the New Testament means the new will, the new witness from God to mankind. There are description of Jesus (A) washing up before prayer and bowing in prayer. In the Old Testament there are also descriptions of other prophets washing up before prayers and bowing in prayer. I can't give ya the exact verses cuz i'm not a Bible scholar... plus boy is it one big book! It's larger than the Quran. |

Assalamu Alikum panjul, my whole point about saying that the word "Bible", "Old Testament", and "new Testament", is that no one told the Christians which books of the bible are divine, and which one are not. Prophet Jesus(pbuh) did not tell them, God did not tell them, and therefore it is men who are deciding which books are divine, and which books are not. This is exactly why you have so many bibles. Diferrent people will decide differently as to which books are divine. God did not tell them which books should be in the "bible", which one should constitute the "Old Testament", and which one should constitute the "New Testament", because it was not made into one book while Prophet Jesus(pbuh) was on earth |
