Islamic Courses?

Asalam u Alaikum, For the past few months I have been thinking about learning about Qu'ran and Seerah on a more committed basis through a proper course. I don't really know where to start the search...which is the best place to go? What are the requirements? Are there any out there that last about a year? I would be looking to attend them up north, but at the moment any information - even down near London - would be great! Jazakallah Wasalam
