assalamu alaikum, this is a message i recieved 1 and 1/2 months ago....i hope
its a source of inspiration

-----
dearest sisters, Assalam 'alaykum how are you? inshaAllah you, your families, and all
loved ones are well and safe and strong in eman. the news being broadcast now is that
they have started to bomb Baghdad. now is the time for us to call to Allah with sincere
hearts. Our scholars here are telling us we should read Quran for the people of Iraq, with
the niyyah (asking) that Allah protect them.

if you can't read Quran, make lots and lots of dua and invocation of blessings upoj
the Prophet (peace be upon him). These are ways of asking for Allah's mercy. may Allah
have mercy on the people of Iraq, and the community of Sayyidna Muhammad SAW as a whole,
and make us strong and help us be better muslims. May Allah make us sources of light in
this world, and help us bring positive energy and faith to all around us, and never let us
fall into despair in times of trial like this, nor into neglect in times of ease.

"from here, this very moment, we will put out the darkness. From our light, the
return of Islam will come"

let us make these nights of sincere worship. lots of love from your sister, in
solidarity with you, knowing all of our combined dua and worship will bring a change
inshaAllah

[wlm] and  [slm]

yes, our dua, our ebadah, our unity and our actions (deeds) ... as Allah doesn't change the fate of those nations which themselves dont strive for it, we need to do long term planning, sahabah won against kuffar not only due to their sky high faith levels but also due to the balance of power (technology wise) i.e. sword vs sword and not  stones vs  tanks ! yes, ppl with stones against the tanks must be saluted but... we need to get advanced in technology.

We can't just keep on blaming muslims statesmen as there is a hadith that says a'maalukum um-maalukum = "you'll get your leaders according to your deeds" i'm mentioning this because majority of ppl just blame muslim leaders for the plight of ummah in present time. Anyways history has seen ups and downs of nations may we realize our short comings as a nation and improve on them

and i agree to everything sis anonymous put in her post, just wanted to text my thoughts here coz the butchering of our brothers, sisters, kids is going on and on !!!!!!!!!

peace
Asim Zafar.
