Soaring and the Dream

I've never shared personal poetry in an open forum before -- I'm glad you asked Maliha....I would have never thought to do it!

I wanted to write a poem describing God's relationship with His creation, and creation's perception of God -- let me know what you think!  I've tried to laden the poem with symbolism -- so read into everything!

Soaring and the Dream

When dawn came,
I woke to see the world as a bird.
Scraping and nudging the pebbled shore.
Dwelling in the earth that clung to my beak.

But woke again to the scent in the caressing breeze,
and paused to listen to the whisper
rippling from a distant shore.

The rushing echoed the stirring of the leaves
and turning, twirling, I hopped away from the water’s even rhythm.

(Clear glass, liquid and blue silver,
and streams of light making themselves known
in-between a canopy of shadows)

The call came again, and I cocked my head
back from distraction
But when I looked within,
the mirrored surface showed me -- nothing.

Water has no desire to ask why it cannot leave the earth
and soar with my wings.
Nor do waves resist their purpose.
It knows simply of reflection -- of being.

And instead of hopping,
sprays awe,
and submits itself to fly through the air.

Soar up, sparkle high in praise and become lost.
Like being lost in Your clarity.

That moment.
When it all just stops,
and the mind
cannot put to words the soaring of the soul.

I heard the whisper.
But for the sleeping,
the sound of waves are sigh-lent.
Until given the means to sing.

WHOA Deep Mashaallah   ;D
I don't know if I got it all...but some verses resonated deeply within such as:
and soar with my wings.
Nor do waves resist their purpose.
It knows simply of reflection -- of being.
Mashaallah, so beautifully put.
I alwayz wonder about the rest of Creation and how easily everything submits to Allah, to their purpose, their destiny...no questions, no desires, no holding back. I wonder why is it soo hard for us to do so?

Keep sharing sis, I gotta go back and re read some of the passages:) Awesome Mashaallah:)
Sis,
Maliha :-)
