Have any of you experienced a day when everything just went wrong? It happened to me 2 days ago. First incident happened when I was walking to the train station. As I crossed over a busy road, I realised I dropped the brooch I was wearing on my scarf. That brooch is rather costly and belongs to my mom :( I looked back and saw the brooch lying on the road. I wanted to pick it up quickly but then I saw so many vehicles coming from the front. Finally, when there were lesser vehicles I ran after the brooch but what left wasnt the brooch I put on my scarf early morning :'(

Second incident happened later at night. I thought of ironing some scarves for the week usage. The first scarf I ironed was a 100% silk scarf and yes its not mine either ..it belongs to my sister. Reading  the topic, I'm sure you guys can imagine what could have possibly happened to the scarf. I made a hole to it !! OH NOOOO!!! In the morning, it was the brooch and now the silk scarf...all in one day. I have been ironing clothes all my life though it wasnt a favorite chore but I do know how to iron without putting a hole to the clothes.

BTW, it is not something unsual for the women in our house to borrow scarves or brooches from each other. It is just that this time things just went wrong
::)

awwwwwwwwww...its not that bad sunset :)
man, I bought like two dozen fancy stick pins from Kenya, in exactly 3 months I lost ALL Of THEM!
How does it happen?
You just gotta have a talent for it like me ;)
I was washing my husband's clothes (mixed with mine), and managed to get his Khakis with blue spots, and his grey shirt PINKISH!
OMG, i tried to soak the clothes with oxyclean, overnight and re wash them, but nothing happened :'( The spots remained....
My hubby was the one who took out the clothes from the dryer, before I could get to them, and he goes "pink T shirt???"
:'(
I am a loser..blah.
Or the other time when i washed his pants without checking his pockets...and all the receipts, random pieces of paper, and money got washed!!
Poor hubby the only comment he made was "its okay baby, you just aren't used to washing men's clothes"
Waaah waaahhh  :'(
How embarrasing :(
Oh well, at least I know what line of business I shouldn't get into ::)
Sis,
Maliha

Oh Maliha!  You were in Kenya???  When was that???  I hope not recently because I would be offended if you did come here knowing I am here and did not let know!!!

Seriously if any of the Madina Board Members EVER visits Kenya and I am here, please let me know.  It will be a pleasure to meet you and I would like to have you over to my place for a meal!!!

I was in Johannesburg (transitting) to and from Zimbabwe.  I missed seeing or talking to Shahida on the phone despite the fact that she gave me her phone number because I did not see her message till I returned to Nairobi on Saturday, May 10, 2003.  And she was in Jo'burg and not Cape Town!!!  And I had seven hours in the airport.  I needed a visa to get to town which I did not have.

Sis, Sunset, hang on there!  You only had two mishaps.  Sometimes we experience more than that in a day!!!  I wish good luck in all the day to come, INSHA-ALLAH.

sorry  :(
We came last year (for our shahril 3asal) but that was in june...were you registered then?
Even if you were, we had been away from home for sooo long. We spent only a day in Nrb, and when we went to Mombasa, it was really hectic. Everyone was trying to invite, and we were perpetually trying to get away to some secluded beach for *us* time :-* But Inshaallah next time, when its going to be less hectic :)
Thanks for the invite that's sweet though :-*
Sis,
Maliha :-)

Yes, Sis Maliha, I was registered by then.  I registered on March 1, 2002.

But I do understand the "time for us" part very well.  There are times you need that very much.

Anyway, we have a saying that goes like this, "My home is your home".  So, remember that the next time your are here, after having your "time for us" of course.

Shukran and all the best.

Halima
