| [slm] I was just reminiscing over my first months in this country....and was cracking up at me self.... :-/ i don't know how many of y'all are immigrants or have had similar experiences somewhere else..but i thought it would be cool to share some silly stories of stuff you observed or saw someone else do in their first attempts to grasp the culture :P okay... in Mombasa it was always a consistent hot tropical weather...when we first came i could not get this season's change thingie. I remember when i was always either over dressed or under dressed for the weather... like i bought a rain jacket for the winter :-/ or my first job they said you have to wear white TENNIS shoes. So i didn't know that tennis shoes here meant you know the cool stuff 8) NIKE, REEBOK, etc. so I go buy actual tennis playing shoes...like--->[url=http://tracysbeans.safeshopper.com/images/k0k23z1.jpg]these ones[/url] and then felt like a dork the whole time i was working :'( or when we first came we lived in Columbia Maryland...and i had to ride a bicycle to work...i had ridden before but not distances on tarmac and stuff and then i fell flat on me face right on the tarmac (with my dorky shoes) and i had blood dripping from me over sized nose and etc. I stayed home for the next coupla dayz too embarrassed to go out :P okay i have more but i'll save them...so i don't embarrass myself too much on the first go ::) at least no more than this :) sis, Maliha :-) [wlm] |

| [slm] Jannah and Se7en have so many F.O.B. stories, that they could practically write a book. :D I'm sure they'll be happy to share them, if not maybe I'll see if I can find some of theirs. :) |

| [slm] When we first came to London from Saudi we ordered Pizza. I was about seven and answered the door. I took the pizza from the guy and propmptly shut the door in his face! I didnt realise you actually [i]tipped[/i] people here! :P My mom and aunt killed themselves laughing at me ::) ma asalaamah and take care |
