Favorite Ice Cream

[slm] So what's your favorite ice cream? I haven't really experimented in a while so I dont know what's good out there these days.  I like chocolate chip cookie dough and I used to like strawberry cheesecake. What's this chunky monkey ice cream Al-Basha is talking about?

Assalamo elikuim Chunky Monkey is great. My brother introduced me to it - I ate it first time when I went to visit my family and my brother was shocked that I didnt even know what it was then :) But any flavor of Chocolate and coffee icecream is my all time favourite. Wasalam tq

Anyone ever have the one called, Death By Chocolate? It is chocolate ice cream with choc chunks and choc ribbons (like real thick liquid)  A chocoholic's dream   ;D I have two favorites, mint choc chip and one called Winter White which is Vanilla ice crean, cherries (and not pieces they put whole and half 's in it) and it has chocolate chunks. yummyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[wlm] If you ever visit Cairo, Egypt go to Kulliatul al-Banat in Heliopolis and ask for the sweet center. And then get yourself the most delicious mouth watering, bone melting,brain tingling, hair standing..you get my point ;)  ice cream in the world --> coconut ice cream with nuts and raisins. *sigh*   Maybe it’s just me but there’s a dire lack of variety in flavors here in the US. It’s either vanilla , strawberry, banana, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate or ... chocolate. What happened to the rest of the fruit kingdom?   ::)

Salaams, Hagendaz, chocolate chips possibly the best ice cream in the world. If you haven't tasted it yet, you haven't lived. Ben and Jerrys is nothing compared to this. Salaams Hanif

[slm] chunky monkey ice cream reminded me of a little joke.    "the name of the ice cream is Chunky Monkey and it also says "All natural ingrediants"!!! he he he"    anyone laughing with me?  ok, at me is ok too.   Ice cream... yummmmmeeeeee fav. no.1  -- green tea fav. no.2  -- jamocha almond fudge fav. no.3  -- dulce de leche fav. no.4  -- coffee fav. no.5  -- butter pecan hmmm, there are many many more!!!  ... I haven't had ice cream in a while now.... now I'm gonna start craving it!!! Ameera

Chocolate Almond Chip @ Friendlys Black Rasberry comes in second place. Nothing beats a Jim Dandy... but you have to enhance it. Ask for hot fudge instead of chocolate syrup and almonds instead of walnuts! :-*

[slm] I went to the store yesterday and picked Ben and Jerry's chunky monkey in my hand.  I read the description and it said banana ice cream with fudge pieces and walnuts.  I was like, WHAT? ???  that doesn't sound good, so I passed up.  :(  but NOW that I see so many people talking about it, maybe i should have gotten it.

[slm] Death by chocolate  (DBC) hmm reminds me of home in Bangalore India there is this place called cornner house that makes an awesome DBC one is supposed to be dead after one  ;) but I managed two in a day  :P Here in the Breyers cohoc Mocah fudge is pretty good so is Hagen Das mint and choc chips my eternal fav ;) [wlm]

[slm] from Hagen Daz I love its strawberry cheesecake and from Baskin Robbins I love its Praline and Cream :) I watched a show on Travelling Channel and it was about Ice Creams in US. OMG, they have so many brands and so many flavors. There was a University in US (cant remember the name ::)) who has its own Ice Cream shop and their popular flavor is after the name of a coach (hehe.. I forgot what was he coaching too :P) It was hard to pay attention about the facts when they were showing all the ice creams :) I think it is called Mango followed by coach name. I also learned from the show that Hagens Daz has no actual meaning...the guy who invented the ice cream was saying out a few unique names and he liked the name Hagens Daz... and all this time I thought it is a German word with meaning :-/ Last May 31st was my brother in law's birthday...we thought of getting some ice cream especially Baskin gave away 31% disc on that day... it was after 10 pm but the queue was soo long :o until customers were given numbers for waiting list... talk about ice creams ::) [wlm] :-)

InshaAllah keeping well! Okay..getting back to the ice cream bit... :) actually, my mom bought it for me at the local grocery store here in Chicago. It's a real nice grocery store because they don't only sell American foods, but also foods from around the world! Much much better than your Jewel or Dominicks. Like my mom and I can pick up some laban (arabic yogurt) for bread, bok choy (chinese cabbage), and czekolada (chocolate swiss.. don't know if I spelled that right!)... ...I hope you find it by you! It's a real treat! Coconut melting in your mouth.. and then towards the end.. you get the real shavings of the coconut which is absolute bliss. Mm..getting cravings for one now.. This time I can plan 3 months ahead of time and bug my mom to take me!!  ;D My friends keep telling me how great it is.. InshaAllah, I'll make it.  :-) Oh sis Somaira.. the grocery store.. well it's in the suburbs, not exactly in Chicago. It's 30 minutes southwest of Chicago. Let me know if you want further details..
