More pressie suggestions!!

Adding to the threads about presents, I thought I'd ask for everyone's advice as well.

My best friend is getting married in about 5 weeks and we (me and another friend) haven't had time to go shopping yet to get her a wedding present...but as we have sum time now we're stumped for ideas, and i wanted to get something really special for her...something a bit different..i think with all my work at uni i'm brain dead  :o

She seem to have loads of stuff already...clothes, jewellery, gold, ornaments etc etc.
She's always going to restaurants so that won't be anything different....

I had an idea to do a scrapbook of some of the things that remind her of things we have done, but i may not have enuf time.

So does anyone have any other ideas?? Anyone who has been in a similar situation?? Or any of the married sisters? what did ur friends give u for ur wedding?

i would appreciate any ideas.

Jazak Allah Khair in advance

Hmmmm.. how about a surprise adventure.
Like...hmmmm lets see,

she gets a card that says to drive to a selected Bath and Body works.  There she picks up from the register an all ready gift bag filled with some goodies you and your friend have purchased.

then in that bag is a card that says to drive to a selected Bed Bath and Beyond and she picks up from the register again a gift bag filled with some more knick-knacks

then another card maybe to go to The Body Shop with yet another bag there...

maybe have the theme all spa-related items (skincare, towels, robe, scrubs, lotions, aromatherapy items, etc...) and then in that last bag have a gift certificate for a spa or something like that.

This way she has all these items left to keep up the skin-care tharapies received at the spa.

Or just do something along the lines of that with any other theme???

Jazak Allah Khair to the sisters who replied  :)

I was wondering if anybody had listened to talks given by Hamza Yusuf called 'Rights and Responsibilities of Marriage'

http://www.usrah.co.uk/commerce/search/products/?product_id=HYU03&merchant_id=1332

I know some parts may be a little late ie, how to choose a spouse..but from the sounds of it, it seems quite good...do u think it'l be good as a weding present? ???

Any other suggestions from anyone?

Caraj (hides face in embarrassment)
I can't believe no one replied or made comment to my "new book" joke
I guess I am not as funny as I thought I was   :(

Mr-Bean I actually really enjoyed you Want not to do posts in the other forums, very witty yet so true.

Have you ever thought of getting into couples counseling as a career or being the facilitater to classes in proper interview tips at you local Islamic center?  With your wisdom and witt to get it across without offending, you'd be good at it I think.

Solitude hope you found just the right thing for your gift needs. Sometimes finding just the right thing is sooooooo hard.

This might be a little late here now.... I've been keeping the question in mind here to see if anything might come up ..... hmm... but nothing... I think because I cannot vision the sister you're thinking about & her life situatuion, where they may be living etc.

I always liked the idea of luggage as a Wedding gift ... something that lasts awhile, sometimes unique to what others give. (opposed to house items, etc)  & people generally have a use for it after marriage. Not to creative there but that's the only thing that came to mind.

I pray Allah(swt) will bless your friend in marriage....... Ameen

Jazak Allahu Khairan Solitude for sharing the smile with us.
