| [slm]' in the city of kufa in iraq,there lived an imam by the name ''thaabit ibn ibraheem.the imam was going through the desert one day and his eyes fell on an apple that has dropped down from a tree,he was hungry so he picked the apple and ate half of it,he then regretted that he did not ask for permission before eaten it,he thus looked for the gardener and asked him to take the half and that he should give his approval of the half he has eaten,but the gardener told him that he has no authority over the apple and that he should seek the approval from the owner who happened to live at a long distance.so the imam started the journey to get liberation for the half apple he ate.on getting to the owner of the garden he narrated his story to him,but the owner refused to give his approval unless the imam will marry his only daughter.the imam asked the owner of the garden why he insisted on him marrying his daughter,the imam was curious to know what is special about his daughter that warranted the owner to insist on marrying his daughter,but when the owner remained adamant,the imam accepted to marry his daughter.the owner of the garden now tell the imam that his daughter is blind,deaf,dumb and lame.the imam saw no option than to marry the daughter of the apple,he saw it as a worthy prize that he has to pay to liberate himself from haram and the punishment of Allah.the aqd nikai was done and they gave the imam a room that he should enter and thereby awaited his new wife.the imam entered and perform the salat ishai and the witr.he then entered the room to meet his knew wife so he said the tasleem and he didnt expect any human being to answer him but he said the tasleem expecting the answer from the angels and that it will be recorded in his favour in the book of good deeds,he expected no answer because the wife he expected to meet was deaf and dumb.but when he entered he saw a normal humanbeing with a sound sight,sound ear,capable of talking and walking.so he asked the wife why did your father has to lie to me?she answered that her father did not lie but it was a breath that came from him when he was praying that overtook her and the result is that she became hale and hearty.he then met her and as a result was born a boy.who is that boy?i ask again who is that boy?i answer,that boy is the one whose name was heard all over the horizon,the boy is the one that was asked 83-thousand questions and he answered them satisfactorily,the boy was the one that performed the salat subh for 40 years with the wudu' of salat ishai,i.e he didnt sleep once he performed salat ishai he will remain awake doing nawafil untill he performed salat subhi,he was the boy that perform two rakats of nafilat on a very cold night and he recite the whole Qur'an in both rakaats,who is the boy once again?ALLAHU AKBAR the boy is ''abu hanifat anu'maan'' SUBHAANALLAH ''abu hanifat anu'maan''. surely good deeds will be rewarded.no bad deed is too small to be neglected just as no good deed is small to be neglected. ma'salaam. abdullah razaaq muhammad |

| [slm] I have heard this story in many qutbaths(sermons) before about the young man apple and then speaking to the owner of the orchard who makes him work for seven years and then ask him to marry his dumb and deaf daughter From what I recollect this story took place in a time before the time of the prophet [saw] , as narrated by all the shayookh I have heard this from I distinctly remember one saying the the prophets [saw] grandfather was a descendent of this couple But never ever I have heard this story being refered to Imam Abu Hanifa as well as I did a search before i posted this reply and I could not find this refrence I would be glad if you let me know the reference Br so that I could enlighten my self wallahu aaalam [wlm] |
