Fatherly Love

That moment she was new and fair
Perfectly pure and good: he found
A thing to do, to outstrip
Motherhood

Her innocent face smiled up at him
Of his love demanding: with a firm
Hard Hand he widened her smile
Into a forced and gaping grin

Then lifted her up, squalling
(Ungrateful little beast!)
He smothered her so tenderly
Until her crying ceased.

‘Twas but for her betterment, he knew
There was no excess pain
For he saw when he opened her eyelids
Glassy eyes without tear's stain.

[slm] ;-)

It seems when he widened her grin with his hand, she started crying but he knew he had not hurt her. Still he lifted her up to comfort her.

So he lifts her up squalling (crying) but then later finds no tears in her eyes. You know like kids sometimes pretend to cry but they don't really cry.

(in keeping with a masculine theme)

Were you there?
author unknown

Were you there in times far gone,
When girls were buried for being born,
When disgrace was your fate for being poor,
And blood was shed to settle a score.
Were you there in times gone past,
When honour came from tribe or caste.
When idols of stone were worshipped in pride,
And people's hearts were hard inside.
Did you witness their evil plight,
The Prophet they tried to kill at night,
The men they tortured for saying a word
That changed humanity, whole nations it stirred.
Were you there in the valley for years,
A diet consisting of water and leaves.
Banished to pay for daring to speak,
The fear of Islam was reaching its peak.
Were you there in the cave crouched down,
The enemy so close and hunting around.
Only protected by a web and bird,
O but indeed, Allah was their Third!
Did you see the day they fought,
3 camels and men whose experience was naught.
Yet bravely they battled against their own kin,
So they were forgiven, and made to win.
Did you witness the men that day,
Who threatened the Kings to surrender or pay.
Persia and Rome had trembled indeed,
They knew they came for Allah, not greed.
Were you there to count the dead,
The Prophet had died and Fitnah had spread.
United they stood and fought those astray,
And spread Islam far far away.
Were you there in times of old,
Or have you only just been told?
The men of honest acts and intentions,
That's why they're called the Prophets Companions

She wanted his love, like any daughter would. Yet, in some paranoid insecure
world of his own, he demanded it as though he thought she hated him. Respect born of fear
was all he understood, so he beat her to instil it. And forced her to take it as though it
was ok, forced her to keep smiling.

When she couldn't, he killed her. And he never saw the pain he had caused. Not once. It
was all for her own good, he said.

Wrote this on a low - I apologise. If the mods could remove it, I'd be much
obliged...maybe harmful to publicise such feelings. Sorry again.
