[wlm] well looks like we've got a few things in common, sister (or sista? ;)) obviously, our usernames are pretty similar... and guess what! I'm from java too... dari Jogja :D, but I'm studying in Australia at the mo I'm pretty new to this board myself, but it really is a lovely place, isn't it? I don't post much, but I love reading other sisters and brothers posts, I've found loads of interesting reads around here wassalam :)

Like any typical Mom I don't allow foul language, name calling or bad manners in here! I do like controversial topics and topics that deal with real life and real problems. Welcome to the board sis! You're gonna love it here! So far it's the best Islamic message board I've seen online.  :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X Oh and Indonesia is such a beautiful country! I haven't been there but I've seen so many programs on it. And the people are sooo friendly! I've met quite a few when I went to Saudi Arabia. One thing that really surprised me was that they said my name was the name of one the islands in the region. That was so cool! Hehehe.  :D

[slm] I am 48 (for the next 6 days :'(), married, gramdmother of 2 girls (I'm raising the oldest - since she was 15 months old) ans just over a year old in Islam.  I am an at-home-mom with 2 on-line businesses for play money, Da'wah materials and Zakat. I live in the Pacific Northwest region of the USA.  I am just about half way between a mountain range and the ocean.  I can go to the mountains to play in snow or the coast to fish for fresh salmon.  The only draw back to where I live is that we only have 2 seasons - Spring and Fall!  Except for this year.  It is actually summer right now  ;D.  The sunshine is beautiful and it is nice and warm this year. I love to garden, flowers and vegetable.  And I am an avid reader, which helps out with all the learning I have been doing and still have to do. That's who I am.  Thanks for the question.  I got to know a little about some of the sisters too!   Yasmeena [wlm]

Hello Lil Sista,                :-*    :-*    :-*   WELCOME    :-*    :-*    :-* I'm Caraj, 41  with two wonderful and adult sons 24 and 25 and two wonderful daughter-in-laws and one granddaughter soon to arrive in Sept. :-*  Hubby is retiring the end of this year and Lord willing we hope to start a whole new generation of children     :o  as we are still young. I also,  like Yasmeena live in the Pacific NW of the US and only about 20 minites from her. I am an outdoorsy lady who is into horses, gardening, canning and freezing her own food, raising our own meat (critters) Also into cooking and making things for people. A major star gazer (have my own telescope) and into herbs and natural stuff too. Welcome and hope you enjoy this site. The folks are wonderful here. Please, tell us more about you, your country and your hobbies/interests.

[slm]  Welcome to the boards and I think that is a wonderful idea you want us to introduce ourselves....   I am the only Muslim in my family--I just reverted last August and it had been wonderful for me so far but I have sooooo much to learn!!!  My mother is Japanese and my father is English, Irish, French, and Native American so I am quite a mix!!  I live in Denver, Colorado and have also lived in Japan.  I loooooooooove Japan!!  I was there last summer during the world cup but unfortunately did not get any tickets---the internet and phone lines were jammed up and people were even unable to make personal phone calls!!!  It was crazy but soo sooo fun!!     I am planning on moving to UAE hopefully this coming January/February to get married to a wonderful man!!   Ameera

[slm] warahmatullah wabarakatuh kayfa haaluka ya ukhtee?  :-* Suppp....Sistas! wow,i cant believe this....more'n more replies i've got.thx a bunch  ;) .well,i've been studying at home lately for my univ entrance exams'n alhamdulillah i've been through a lot as yet.but u know what,sheytan tempted me for a while(damn!) >:( so that i couldnt get drowsiness'n laziness away.every time i opened the book,i couldnt help feeling drowsy but alhamdulillah,i tried to get closer to Allah swt,more praying'n reciting Al Qur'an....... now everything's better  :-) insha Allah,i'll pass the exams(pray for me).oh,Gosh!i have only 3 days left!!!!  ;D hey,thx for the photos simply_sister!!! wow Ameera,ur mom is Japanese....u know what,some of my relatives r in Japan too,my 1st name sounds Japanese(it means snow.....guess what!)'n lotsa ppl think i look a bit japanese with these small cute eyes  ;D but im pureeeeely Indonesian.it's just my grandpa chose that name since he used to live in Japan yeah....he loves Japanese stuff. ugh,he likes listening Japanese traditional songs.....'n blasts the stereo at home!!!....i cant stand it. umm....yeah ur rite wardah,it's too hot here esp in this city where im living now.well,we have only 2 seasons,wet'n dry(it's dry season now) but lotsa foreigners think that Indonesia is the best place to live in( wanna come? ;)) the average temp is 26-32 C.few places r cool'n u sure gonna love the weather....take my words! umm....what else???......k,a lil bit about me......im the eldest child,my parents r in their 40's.i have a 13 yr old sib.she's unreal,mind-blowing,drop-dead gorgeous,outta this world......above all,she's just stepped into teenagers' world(gotta keep an eye on her!)'n i luv her.i've been staying with my g'parents from both side for all my life.dont ask why!'coz it's a long story.all i can say is just i had such bad experiences in the past regarding my parents but alhamdulillah im stronger than yesterday  :-) without His help'n guidance,i wouldnt be like this.im very thankful to Him. i think it's enough for today  ;D  ;D  ;D......too much blabbering. k,i gotta get goin'!'till then! [slm] wow! sis simply_sister jazakallah khair for those pictures! those scenes are soooo nice  :-* unfortunately where i live theres lots of houses and cars and roads, basically no nice scenery like the ones near where you live...but Alhamdullilah got to be thankful for the roof above my head. I do get to see the sun set colours from our attic window which is soo un-describably wow. sis Lil_Sista  Hope you pass your exams with flying colours inshallah. It was only a few weeks ago when i was going through that stage for my GCSE's ;D I used to have an indonesian friend who was mashallah really nice  :-* and she taught me some words in indonesian language but...i forgoten them  ::) the weather sounds great down there and yes i'd love to come someday.. ::) me and my dreams *sigh* sis IMuslim_4Ever wow mashallah 9 siblings, lucky your the youngest...you must get all the attention in the house  ;D my cousin who's my age is the eldest from 9 siblings and mashallah shes like a mini- mum  :) May Allah bless her.  :-* Take care all  :-) wassalam

I try to balance the thankfulness myself.... Alhamdu lillah......somedays I wish there was a Mosque that was closer than ~1 1/2 hours away... I miss living in PA & standing side by side with the mass of sisters @ the Mosque...(I was born & raised here in the West though) (there are only 1-5 sisters if any @ a time in any Mosque I go to now). ((Portland,OR has a larger Muslim Population but that's an even longer drive)). Sometimes I wish I could meet with a fellow sister of Islam in person more often.(there are no other Muslim sisters in my community here even..... again I'd be about ~1 1/2 hour drive away....etc.. but Alhamdu lillah ... we have some nice views... some peaceful places.... & some truly fresh air.... Masha' Allah........ & thanks to Jannah ...I can meet a sister right here @ home.  Or anyplace I can get onto a computer  ;) You know what I [u]really[/u] wish though Sister Wardah.... I wish my parents & extended family were Muslim too.... they will be some day... Insha Allah..... Allahu Alam.... But Alhamdu lillah ..... Allah (swt) somehow brought me Islam in the middle of the trees, so to speak, so who could not be thankful for that. You all have to truly know how thankful I am for all of you..... I thought I'd introduce myself too. I just reverted to Islam Sunday, so I'm very new to everything. I'm 20 until next month, and from the United States. I finished my college to be a Dental Assistant and am thinking about becoming a dentist. But I'm not sure. I'm engaged too, but we don't know when we'll be getting married. And that's about it for now.

[slm] well, i thought i'd give an intro since mashallah so many of the other sisters have too, which is really nice to get to know everyone a little more  :-* let's seeee, i'm 22 and am rounding the end of my third year in medschool inshallah (make dua that i pass my exams if you're reading this!). I'm halfway thru my surgery elective and alhamdulilah it's actually been pretty laid-back if you can believe that. subhanallah, the human body is so amazing ;D welcome aboard lil sis, it's really nice to see younger girls get involved w/ the site, there are *mashalllllah* so many wonderful role models on this board  :-*

so this is where the sisters hang out and chat! I kept looking at threads in the Akhawaat cafe but there were brothers there too!  ??? So great to see all the young sisters and the new-in Islam sisters here  :-) I'm one of the old fogeys, thirty-mumble years old and approaching the Big 4-Oh  :-/  Married, with kids, alhamdulillah. Love books, nasheeds, animals and more. Hate housework but it won;t go away (darn it)... so we just get on with it.  :P I sew a bit to because I don't like the stuff that is out there. Not that I am any good at it  :P One of my favourite things in Islam is meeting sisters from all over the world and having friends from different backgrounds, and what brings us together is Laa ilaha ill-Allah. The best thing I discovered until now is Islam, and I am sure I never can find anything better. And of course, a club of sisters is the best thing there is. [color=Purple][/color][right][/right] [slm] i cant believe i didnt do this earlier!! duh!!!!! :-/ my name is susie. i live in denver, colorado. im 27 and BACK in school. trying to finish the sociology degree that i had put on hold for real life and also doing pre-reqs for either nursing or med school (i havent decided which one, but calculus is SCARY so i am leaning more toward nursing  ;D). i am a revert from a little over 2 years ago. it has definitely been an interesting 2 years!!!!! i am babystepping my way into  :-)hijab at the moment.   umm ... not sure what else to say so i'll just stop  :)
