DUCT TAPE

Okay, since the brothers are all struggling to find a topic that is worth their claim of "Quality versus Quantity" (Note:  That is a direct hint...have to be specific when it comes to brothers), I thought I'd help you out...just to get things rolling, you know?

Specific question:  How come MEN think that all the world's problems can be solved with duct tape?

My brother once broke his car's sideview mirror (He claims that someone hit HIM, not the other way around.....riiiiiiiiiiight).  He decided that he could live without getting it fixed, and TAPED it in place.  Poor car.  It looked so wounded.

One time, my younger brother was jumping on his bed, and, the mattress popped open.  What did my big bro do?  He TAPED it together.

Another time, my uncle's screen door fell off, and my cousin TAPED that in place too.

My cousin DUCT TAPED his posters on the wall.  Much to his mother's horror, the adhesive never properly came off, and the walls had to be repainted.

My grandfather DUCT TAPES bottles of honey and shampoo when he is travelling.  I asked him why he does that..."why! to avoid spillage, of course..."  But, Baba, you're hand carrying all of that stuff, anyway, why don't you just use a plastic bag?  "Beta, you wouldn't understand."

When we lived in Tanzania, our houseworker used to duct tape chickens feet together before *graphic image* slaughtering them.  Poor chickens.

I know that the brothers can think of countless more uses for duct tape...(but make sure you answer my Q first)

Wasalaam.

(Oh and if duct tape fails...you always got SUPA GLUE)

:)

Well I think it shows the compromising and generous nature of men. Since they believe in fixing things not replacing or throwing them out. I think it's same when it comes to husband/wife relationship men try to compromise and fix what they have already got.

On the other hand what women do and how they take the matter that we have seen in "Unbelievable proposals" and "What makes a true man" threads ..........;)

Hmmmm! I have never used duct tape! I would hate to see it on anything! It would look so ugly!

I think I would only use it to fix some leaking pipe under the sink or something like that.

I think duct tape works wonders when you can't get a little kid
to sit still in their seat.      :o     :P    :-/

Just joking   (maybe)     ;D

In refer to the Bro who posted above my post, gosh if it were only that easy,     :-[    if your hubby hates duct tape, simply duct tape anything and everything you want fixed or thrown away, duct tape it good so it bugs him enough to do something  about it   :D

You know what it is don't you?  You know how whenever some brother tries to post in the Akhwat cafe he's usually shot down and defeated and humiliated?  The last one being a brother who ended up calling himself an "idiot" publically, but in the end won the sympathy of others and turned the table.  Well the Ikhwan Health Club works the same way.  In the past we had such heroes as Bro Hanif and Abu Hamza to defend the Ikhwan forum, but now a new generation of brothers (SuperFob, Faisal Siddique, Nomi, Muhammea Ahmed, Bulwark of Islam) have stepped up to the challenge to defend the Ikhwan Health Club from the invaders (i.e. the sister).  :)

Good try though, better luck next time.   :P

We don't fuss when you brothers post on the sisters board, actually we welcome it (most of the time  :P when you all can answer tactfully)   :-/

By the way what in the world is a super FOB
I think I missed something here.
Is that like Faternal Order of Brothers ???
Fight on Brothers  ???
Ok this is not to offend and I'm sure I'll be put in my place if it does.

FOB:
1) Fresh Off the Boat (reference to someone new in USA and not yet acquinted with the life here, usually possessing a distinctively asian accent, and an awe of simple things like soda machines with free refill at mcdonalds)
2) Fat Old Brother (reference to a balding married (or in some cases unmarried) man with a homer simpson belly who can claim that "no matter how much I eat I don't gain weight")

Assalamu 'alaikum,

Bro Hanif and Abu Hamza should be the trainers, we be the trainees :). U know what? Akhwat Cafe is usually the last forum I go to when I am on board reading posts and threads, and many a times I don't even go there, but what's very interesting is that whenever I go there, I usually do find something that makes me laugh, just like sisters come to Ikhwan health club and complain that its so boring except panjul and strivinsista  :D (hey bhaloo u sure u didn't bribe them to say that? :)). Please, sisters, don't be offended by what I said, but I gotta admit, the latest, funniest thread I read in Akhwat Cafe is "Unbelievable proposals". I am still enjoying it, keep posting sisters  ;)
What is FOB
ABCDs can answer that the best   ;D. I have a question. Does anyone know which term was formulated first, ABCD or FOB? All ABCDs' roots can be traced back to some FOBs though, isn't it?

Wassalam.

FOB is an acronym used for new immigrants coming to the newland...america... bringing their own ways of life here to america...or anywhere else foriegne to them ....it stands for "fresh off the boat"

ABCD is an acronym specifically used for those from pakistan, bangledesh, india, basically "desi" people.... it stands for allready been chewed desi... meaning that u were once a fob but now practice the ways of the place u live it at.....
