I have been receiving a lot of e-mails in the bulk folder of my e-mail
program.  They are from people in foreign countries offering me a large sum of
money to invest it for them.  Being in the USA and with all the arrests for people
helping out terrorist organizations with donations/investing, I am a little
alarmed.

I do not answer the messages and delete them from my mailbox, but I can't seem to
get rid of these unwanted messages.

What do I do?

I recieved something similar a while back.
Something to the effect of a young lady's father getting rich
throught diamond mines in some country in Africa and something about
his suspiously dying. Not being able to bring money in without heavy tax, etc, etc, etc.

My suggestion, my son taught me about the pc and email about 4 years ago. he said if you don't know who it is from, DO NOT EVEN OPEN IT.

When I had aol, I got an email telling me it was aol and that I had 5 unopened mail. Well having a husband overseas I fell for it and opened and read it. It asked for me to sign in. Not even thinking I did. Then  (after the fact  ::) ) thought, why in the world would they ask me to sign in when I was already signed in? I immediatly changed my password and contacted aol and forwarded them the email.

Opening emails where you are not 100% sure who they are from can lead to:
1) Junk mailers knowing it is a valid email addy so they will send more.
2) Viruses
3) Will open you up to fraud it you are kind hearted and not careful.

My sons are very wise and protective and when the oldest taught me the pc he did so on 4 conditions.
a) if you do not know who it is from DON'T OPEN IT
b) Never post or send anyone your picture
c) Do not give out personal info (real name, address, phone, etc)
d) Don't click on blue.  (I still have no idea what that is about)
Be careful.

Oh and another I got which really ticked me off and had me sending back a real nasty email.
The subject part was: A police officer is looking for you.
I was on the road and with my husband being overseas, and relatives knowing how to contact me by email and at times that being the only way. First thing that ran through my head was........Something has happened to my husband.
I know, maybe that is being dumb, butI know better now.

Salam!

Like Caraj said---delete it!  They ask you for your bank information so that they can "deposit their large sums of money" but all they want is to wipe you clean....
NEVER give out bank info or password info....thats usually a good rule of thumb.

Good luck
Salam,
Naz

Actually, this is a very well-organized hoax.  A whole bunch of people were arrested in Canada for being involved in this.  It sounds very convincing, yes, but it's a complete lie.
Beware!!
