My daughter-in-law (who is 7 months pregnet) loves woodworking and wishes to make things to sell. She has always been interested in wood working. We were talking about scroll saws today and I told her I would ask the Brothers (and sisters) does anyone know anything about them? What to look for? Sizes vs projects? Any info you can give and offer is much appreciated. She has heard porter cable and bosch are good ones. Thank you, Caraj |

[slm] I've taken a two year carpentry course, so i guess ill have ot be the first one to answer this thread :P First make sure you follow all the safety procedures before, during and after using any power tools, (i.e wearing safety glasses, clamping work down properly etc.) The smaller the blade the more sharper the turn, and the less control there is. Make sure that you practice on a big piece of wood before going on to smaller pieces if you are just learning. (It is better to have a ruined piece of wood than a ruined finger.) Working with large pieces of wood is always better. If you want to make intricate patterns of wood, then gat a small blade. A large blade is good when cutting large curves that are steep. Well this is my two cents worth, im sorry that I could not give more info. (its been two years since i last took a course in woodworking). [slm] (P.S this is a good site for wood working tips...8br>http://www.taunton.com/finewoodworking/index.asp) ;-) |
