| Jannah or bhaloo can you find me the thread on the old boards where we all discussed a married convert staying married to her non Muslim husband or not staying with him. I know there are many opinions on this. Thank you. If anyone has a view, opinion, story to share about such things, etc please jump in on this thread. One question I believe I asked last year, some say a woman who converts needs to leave her husband if he does not convert. I don't see why if he is not bothered by her converting and does not hinder her path? |

| salam, not sure where that thread is, i think we've discussed it a number of times though.. i think it's better if a person talks to an imam or someone knoweldgable in person about their particular situation. it's very easy for someone not in the situation to just cut/paste a fatwa that says 'of course being married to a nonmuslim is haram'. And there's alot to take into account and things the imam should talk about as well to ascertain the best way to do things. btw surprsingly enough, showing that these issues are not all black and white in islam, i heard recently that there were scholars in our past who discussed this topic and allowed converted muslimahs to stay with their nonmuslims husbands... |
