My best friend is from trinidad...her family talks like that...it's so cool...for example, her breakdancing 4 yr old nephew (who looks chinese, and wears jeans that weigh more than he does...incredibly adorable) was literally bouncing off the walls while I was supposed to be babysitting him. | [slm] Although using a vernacular might get you some laughs (or some times street cred) you should better start practising your english young man. I don't want muslim kids adopting a ghetto way of life. Speaking Patois would not make you bilingual, and worse, would become a major disadvantage. But keep the style handy for a better use: dawa and naseeha. |

I can also speak limited Arabic :D As tah, not wanting Muslim kids adopting a ghetto way of life. I really don't know what to say about that statement, but I don't find it particularly flattering. I understand the angle your coming from, but I (and most other Muslims, where I'm from at least) can stand on their own two feet. We're not gonna make the Ummah look like a Sean Paul video don't worry, jus because we're all livin hip hop don mean we ain got morals. Only people with low self esteem would abandon religious morals for the eyes of other people.
