| Dear Brothers and Sisters, Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. I pray you are all in the best of health and iman. Today my baby turned 15 months and I found out that he will be undergoing surgery within the next 4-5 weeks, insha'Allah. He has what is called an undescended testicle. I'm wondering if any of the parents on the board have dealt with something similar to this? I have heard that there are hormones that can be injected but that the chances of them working are only about 20%. A friend once told me that when you take medicine you should ask Allah (swt) to make it a cure for you. Is there a similar dua that I can make if I choose to try the hormones on him first? Any and all du'as for my baby will be greatly appreciated and reciprocated. Thanks, Serena |

| Serena I sure wish you and your baby the very best. As a Mom there is such a burden on our hearts (worrying and such) as it is and medical stuff adds to that. I hope you won't mind my suggesting if possible get a second opinion. Also get the name of this hormone and research it not only on the internet but also ask a couple different pharmacist about the med (hormones) and it's risks, etc. My past experience is a pharmacist usually knows more about meds than doctors do. Just my own experience. See if the 20% chance out weighs any possible risks and / or side effects. I'll be praying for you and your baby. Bet ya the baby does better threw all this than you do. Is a mother job to worry and fret. My youngest had surgery at age 8 y/o and one of them (can't remember which one now, as it has been 23 or 24 yrs ago, but one was ill and in the hospital at 7 months old. |
