| They exist here. They have their own Masjid. Nobody bothers them. Can't tell their number. There are different sects of Muslims here, the Shia, the Ismailia, the Suni, the Al-Itihad Al-Islamia which most people refer to as Akhwan Muslimeen. Muslims here co-exist sect wise. There are differences of opinions which become glaring scary sometimes, especially during Ramadhan, beginning and end. Disputes also rear their ugly heads during Mawlid. A larger number of Muslims in Kenya hold Mawlid celebrations during its month. These are mostly the Sunis. Otherwise, we all know that we are Muslims and respect each other as such. |

| [slm] I dont think that we should call ahmadiyas and ismailis a 'sect' of islaam. They are non-Muslims and a big danger coz they betray ignorant Muslim and those who are new to islaam but alhamdulillah they are shrinking with time. |

| Brother Nomi, I am not the one who labelled them as a "sect" but they are known as such. And they also refer to themselves as Ismailia Muslims or Ahmadia Muslims. Whatever they are is beyond me as individual. |

| [wlm] I just found out a couple yrs ago how there is a masjid of Ahmaddiyas in our city..... and the number of attendees is quite decent.. Every jumah they listen to their Main imam.. err through satellite.... |
