some questions...

Despite the cheers of some Muslims and the dismay of others, many reputable journalists are raising really good questions about the much celebrated, gruesomely advertized deaths of Uday and Qusay. It seemed Bush and his cohorts needed something sooo bad. Something to lighten up the skies and shock and awe people into believing the might of the US, especially after their humiliated defeat (of purpose at least and unveiling of their corrupt intent in front of a worldwide audience of very cynical spectators). With gory pictures of these deaths plastered all over the news (which Alhamdullillah I have managed to shield my eyes from)...A couple of key questions are being glossed over:

a)Was the death of the 14 year old, Mustapha necessary? (Subhana Allah a convenient fact excluded from every news outlet).

b)Were their deaths even necessary with the fact that they could have been brought to justice through an international court and probably given key information to the public.

c)Isn't assassination outlawed in every major book?

d)The US wept and cried and made such a fuss about the prisoners of war being shown (pictures of LIVE pows) and how does that compare to this gross humiliation of human life and dignity?
(i don't care if they were fir3aun himself..we still have to keep our humanity intact!)

e) What purpose does this serve? According to Robert Fisk many iraqis he interviewed were incensed by this act, and many of them looked at it, as a humiliating blow from the occupiers (even though they absolutely loathed the dead).
Many Iraqis are waking up to the reality of living under an occupying force, and the very obtuse way Americans are tactlessly handling issues is not making their (Iraqis) resolve for *true* liberation any weaker.

Robert Fisk of the London Independent writes in his latest article:

“The publication of the Uday and Qusay photographs will prove to be either a stroke of genius or a historic mistake of catastrophic consequences….The occupation authorities are pondering the idea of plastering the pictures around Baghdad. But be sure, they will soon be used as martyrs' photographs on posters with a somewhat different message. The work of the Americans. The work of the occupiers.”

Fisk continues to say:

“In Iraq, I suspect, there will be a growing number of young men who will see the need in these pictures not to content themselves with regime change, with the realisation that they can believe in a new future, but to revenge themselves upon the foreigners in Iraq, to avoid the further humiliation of occupation. They may not have been Ba'athists. They may have hated the sons of Saddam. But after death can come a remarkable reversal of fortunes for the dead.”

May Allah aid the Ummah to gain true liberation from the oppression of our own selves, from the oppression of our enemies, to remove the shackles of sins and ignomity and to rise in the splendor of His worship and His Taqwa...and to Rise again, a civilization reborn in Worship and Dignity.
(Amin).

i would not put too much faith in the conscience of the US or the European public, at this time.

it is the rising cost in $s & manpower that will determine the will of the US to continue with its colonisation, or to retreat.

i had hoped that lessons of world wars had taught everyone that weapons of mass destruction were to be eliminated. The rise of the net & globalisation would mean that exploitation of nations by others would end.

when Bush Senior enuntiated his famous "New World Order", my hopes sank.

The clash between national interests of the US & the multinationals may still come about, but it would be at the expense of the third world.

i then thought that the US & Europe's interests will come together & they will continue their alliance to exploit the third world. but Bush junior's arrogance has created a rift, which may heal yet, & we may have to go thru' another century of colonisation, with kala sahibs lording over us, & doing their masters' bidding.

The slow attrition of US soldiers will mean the US will sub-contract to smaller local powers, we know india & pakistan on this list.

The more serious problem for the US is the state of the economy. The figures are:

before the war:

US GDP     = $10.1 trillion

total debt =  $ 6.4 trillion

external debt = $ 5.76 trillion
additional burden so far:

contraction in the economy = ?

increase in debt ~ $0.5 trillion

in the next few years: additional debt will be $4.3 trillion

total debt to increase to GDP
is it sustenable?

only reason it has survived so far is that this debt is in dollars. an attempt by the "rogue" states to diversify into euros has ben nipped in the bud by this toppling of Saddam, but the world has woken up to the shakiness of the dollar.

i see wars & economic misery everywhere, with hatred against the US rising, & at the opportune time, the Zionists stepping in to be the saviors of humanity. Isn't this what Dajjal is all about? & when he comes, the only surety is for those who stay put in the Harmein.

maybe some more signs are still to come about.

may Allah (swt) protect us all from the fitnah of the Dajjal, & may HE give us Firdaws-e-a'alaa

Sister Maliha your questions are very valid but to get answers of your questions you have to wait since there is Musa for every Firown. Earlier Saddam Hussain and his associates were behaving like Firown and they have met their destination. Now US has taken their position so they are also going to harvest what they are sowing now.

There was a time when sun was not setting in British empire and now if there is sunny day in Britian people celebrate it. What happened to Roman Empire? Where is Alexander the great now? Where did Mangools go? Now Mongolia is a country which is hardly known by anyone in world. The recent example is USSR. US used to shiver with it's name their idealogy was spreading like fire in forest. Asia, Europe, American, Africa all the continents had effects and influence of USSR but now the same nation is dependant of US handouts. So it's just matter of time .............

Does anyone else find it odd that after using tanks and all kinds of bombs and weapons the two were dead, yet the 14 year old miraculously survived and it was only when the American soldiers went in and the kid started shooting at them with a machine gun that they 'had' to shoot him.

Sometimes I wonder if they  have copy writers who write the best sounding story....

Salaams,

If you guys think this is bad, the press is having a field day with the govt over here. Lies and spin have been produced by the Labour govt yet they still stand by their words that Iraq had WMD, had purchased uranium from Niger and so forth. Whats astonoishing is even the US hawks says the claim about Iraq buying uranium from Niger is not worthy, yet the Brits insist that they are right and everyone else is wrong.

Why do I get the feeling that wars are going to carry on now till the arrival of the Mehdi.

Salaams

brother, i look at my external behavior, & it is full of sin. i look at my inner self, & find the heart empty of love for Allah.

the trials are going to increase, & looks like we will be making more & more compromises in the name of survival.

For those who are waiting for the coming of the Mehdi, & then the Dajjal. who knows what side will we chose?

may Allah (swt) protect us, & guide us along the right path

Jazakallah khair brother Timbuktu I think you have pointed to something very important. Imam Mahdi WILL come and Dajjal WILL also appear but it doesn't give us excuse to sit and wait for them. In fact we are supposed to fullfill our obligations and duty.
