Guess this is where I am suppose to introduce myself.   I am ummibrehim.  I am american muslim.  I live in kentucky. I would love to know a bit about all of you and where you are located.

Nice to meet both of you. In the small town where I live there are not many muslims.  A few doctors with their families is about all. The closest big communities is about 100 miles in either direction. I have been a muslim for a few years (26)   :-X  that makes me rather old.  ;D However, the struggle is there to the end I believe.  I hope we all can become friends.  I enjoy posting with muslims. :-*

Assalamalyakum sisters. yes, Lexington is in Kentucky.  And they have a nice community there. I live however, about 100 miles away.  To far to travel often. I am new to posting boards.  I never knew they existed until a few months ago and I sit out to find muslim boards. I am so happy to find some. I hope we can all be friends. I am a coffee drinker sister.  Trying to pretend it is healthy, no, just trying to keep it to a cup or so a day.  lol, it helps keep me awake.  I do not get a lot of sleep.

I am sorry brother but I do not recognize the name. That does not mean a lot.  I still might have been in contact some how.  However, I do not know of anyone close to here that wears turban. Is he in Somerset?  There are a few muslism there I do not know. Most of the sisters here are uncovered unless you get closer to Lexington and Knoxville, Tennessee. They have nice communities.

I will add this brother.  Most of the christians here tell me they think it is funny I am the only "one" around.   It is true.  I am the only muslim here that wears hijab.   The town is very small however.

I'm new here too and just wanted to give my greetings to everyone.  Masha'Allah, it's sooo nice to see a collection of ppl into the deen; this site seems really unique and verry cute (I love the concept and the icons!), and I can't wait to be a part of it inshaAllah.   :) Anyway, I live out here in the So Cal area.  Anyone else from here?  Out of curiousity, do those who don't live out here consider us LA people superficial?  Just wondering if this is a common sentiment.   ;)

Sister Shieldoffaith, Welcome aboard!  I am another African here, from the east of the continent, East Africa i.e., the country is Kenya and the city is Nairobi where I am. I am the oldest of the sisters on this board (probably the brothers too). A divorced mother of two boys, one 16 and the other will be 13 in October. [slm] I am new here also. I live in Washington D.C. I am also new 2 this board & I have been a Muslim for about 2 1/2 months now. Sis. Ruh this is my 1st visit 2 Cali & B4 I came all the ppl I knew from here or who came 2 visit loved the place and the ppl. My hsband loves the community here and InshaAllah went out of his way 2 bring me here.  ;D So answering your your question, I don't know about other ppl, but I've met nothing but cool Cali peeps. :-/

I too am new to this site, I had no idea that a site like this would exist! At the moment, I have one year of collage left, and inshallah, I will do medicine in University. Finally, this site is GREAT! It is so nice to learn of muslims from different cultures and countries and I am suprised how well everyone knows eachother.
