| ...remember (my) our sweet Sister Cindy who passed away a couple of years ago. Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. Well, if you do, and even if you don't, I have a truly sincere request for all of your du'as, insha'Allah. The night before last her son, 13 years old, was playing outside with his brothers and their friend's and his "friend" poured rubbing alcohol on him and then set him on fire! :( His entire torso was burned and he can't raise his arm very well because his underam was burned. He has already undergone one surgery and there will probably be several more in the near future. Please, if you can, keep him in your prayers. Thank you, and I will keep you updated, insha'Allah. | How awful, was this some joke and the kids didn't realize what would happen? Can we get a hospital name and address so we can send him cards and letters of encouragement? Maybe you can private message all of us who are interested instead of posting it since this is open to anyone to read. I know I would like to send him a card. How awful. He'll be in my prayers. |

| My dearest Brothers and Sisters, Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Jannah – This incident did not make the news, although his picture will be on the internet by next week. :) It’s so that he could see how he looked in the ambulance. I don’t know why??? Unfortunately, it was just kids being kids. It is being investigated by the police because of some malicious intent though. Anymore than that I don’t want to write here on a public forum. If you want to know more you can email me, insha’Allah. I went to see him today and he seems to be in good spirits, Alhamdulillah, except that he is on some heavy drugs and doesn’t talk much. :) His burns range from superficial (sp?) to severe in certain spots. The doctors are hoping that the current treatment they are using will work, otherwise they will need to do skin grafts and his recovery and hospital stay will be a lot longer. :( There is also a risk of infection in one area where the wound is much deeper. His hospital is at least 2 ˝ hours away so I can only go and see him about every other day. :( I do stay in constant phone contact with him though. Azizah – Due to the risk of infection, the hospital is very cautious over what items he can have/receive there. If you wish to send something to him (which you don’t have to at all), you can send it to me and I will get it to him the next time I see him, insha’Allah. Again, your prayers are all we ask for. :) Again, thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. I greatly appreciate them with all my heart. I will keep you updated as his condition changes. If I forgot anything, or anyone, please forgive me for it’s been a long day. Your Sis, Serena |

| [slm] This is so SO disturbing. My heart goes out to the little boy who has been scarred, and literally, for life. May Allah (SWT) make it easy for him and your family, sister. As for the punksters, they not only need a smackdown from their parents/guardians, they need to be put in juvenile/rehab centers if there is REAL threat of them repeating this sorry act again. :( Wassalam. |
