| [slm] Alhamdulilah, I passed my ob/gyn exam and surgery exams. :-* Step 2 of the boards is tomorrow! :o I could definitely use some dua's..... the test is scheduled from 9am till 6pm, but I'm hoping it won't take me that long to take it. After that, it's all down here from here! ;) jazakallah khair to my jannah fam ;D for all of your duas! [wlm] |

| [slm] :D docs? inshallah in May, just gotta make it to graduation ;D Mabrook Shahida on doing well! does that mean you're gonna go into peds or gyn? Inshallah i'm thinking of doing a combined FP/psychiatry program. i really think the muslim communities out there need a doc they could go to who could also take care of their psych needs (that is, if they ever want to admit them ::)) i'm all about one stop shopping :) |

| [slm] BroHanif, inshaAllah, I will graduate in December next year! There's still a whole lot of learning and growing before then:) Ruqayyah...man, I think you would do great:) One stop shopper, hehe:) InshaAllah, it will all work out for you. I found psychiatry soooooooo interesting, but not something I could do on a day to day basis. Attitudes are changing though, in the Muslim community, inshaAllah. I got to treat a few Muslim patients during my rotation, and it was very interesting to see how their families were accepting of psych treatment. The one patient was brought in after her son decided she needed some help. she is a schizophrenic, and had been since she was very young, but no-one ever sought any help for her, and she was always eccentric and weird. But she got married and had 4 kids! and now 40 years later they finally find out whats up with her, and she is like a whole new person....very interesting stuff, psych... Anyways, you graduate before me!!! hehe:) inshaAllah. I still have loads of time to decide what I wanna do with my life, after graduation i have 1 year's internship, and then 1 year "community service" before I am free to specialise. But the way things look, Paeds is where it's at for me!! LOVE Paeds, gonna do a clinical elective in Paeds in germany after Ramadaan:) inshaAllah khair... As for doing well in gynae, well that was a total fluke! I have no interest in gynae (although, strangely enough, I feel really competent in both Obs and Gynae??? weird? like after last year, I still had *no* idea about internal medicine, but I could deliver a baby with confidence. And like now I have *no* idea in surgery (hehe) yet i feel totally competent in the gynae admissions ward? How weird is that? ::)) Wishing you a lovely Ramadaan. Do you have holiday now?
