???I wasn't sure where to post this question. I was wondering what the ruling on donating organs was. I was cleaning and found the organ doner card you're supossed to keep with your driver's license. I had checked the NO box because I always felt it wasn't right. The way I saw it was that if Allah wants you to be blind, you're going to be blind, or if you're going to die of a heart attack, you are, and that's how it is. Maybe it's ok to donate organs? I don't know, that's why I'm asking.

[slm] ;D

The reason some scholars are against donating organs is because we're not supposed to mutilate the bodies of the dead... But then, the reason some scholars are for donating organs is because if we save the life of one person, it's like saving the life of all of mankind, and it wouldn't be right to just let a person die when you have the ability to save them by giving them somethings you ain gon be usin anyway... So there's a choice, A) Let the person die, or B) Mutilate the body... So donating organs is seen as the lesser of two evils in this case and that's why some scholars are for it.

I dunno if that holds weight because we're allowed to fix deformities in our bodies... Anyway, if Allah wants you to be blind, you're not gon be able to stop Him ;D

Please correc me up if I be wrong.

That gives me something to think about... :-[ I never looked at it as mutilating a body of the dead...And I can understand the saving of one life, and giving someone something you wouldn't be using anyways...
Thanks for the reply WhiteSomali  :)

I am kind of hesitating because I read the dead can still feel pain. Anyone know more about that?

[move]Modified.. or rather addition[/move]

A brother asked me for the daleel on my comment... I could not find it, in fact according to the scholars on Isalm q&a... Organ donation is acceptable, in many circumstances.

As a side note, I wrote that "i had read" but I did not make it a statement of fact and purposely did not want to make it sound as a 'fatwa.'
