| [slm] I wanted to try out some soup recipes..does anyone have any good ones? Like *cough* kathy *cough*...I am really clueless when it comes to non-traditional dishes ::) also, it has to be really really delicious, cuz me family would not touch it.. :P okay...one last thing..i need it by tommorow latest..i invited my really healthy eating aunty over for lunch..and wanted to surprise her with soup/ salad combo :-[ okay...enuff requests for one day:) Jazakumu Allahu Khayran for helping a sis out :-* iReallyCanCookSometimes, :-) Maliha [wlm] |

| Kathy's Famous Creamy Potato Soup 5 cups Chicken Broth 3/4 c. chopped Onion 11/2t. Dillweed (more if fresh) 3c. sliced Potatoes 6T. Butter 6T. Flour 3/4 t. salt couple of dashes of pepper (white if you have it) 3c. milk In a pot add broth, onion, dill and potatoes. Bring to a boil, then simmer for at least 10 minutes, until potatoes are very soft. Puree (by hand, blender, or beating gadget) In the pot melt the butter. Add the flour, salt and pepper. stir for 1 minute. Add the milk all at once. ( a good trick is to warm the milk in the microwave first...it will be quicker!) Cook and stir until the soup is thickened and bubbly. Add the potato mixture. Cook for a couple of minutes (just to heat thru) Garnish with fresh dill! Enjoy! Healthy Aunt would much rather have: This may seem wierd but it is absolutely delicious.... Instead of potato use 3 cups of fresh cut carrots... It is a beautiful soup! |

| yep! c. means cups... :-/snicker... snicker.... t=teaspoon T= Tablespoon If your aunt is into healthy, she might not like the carbs from the potatoes. Trust me... the carrot soup is delicious! |
