Here's a nice site you could look at ukthi...explains what they are, what they do, how they relate to us etc...:

[url]http://muttaqun.com/jinn.html[/url]

And I'm sure they're not offended  ;) Allah swt and His Messenger  [saw] have provided us with the knowledge...it is up to us to seek it.

i went to algeria last summer, and i learned alot about jinns, there.  well because of the problems there, i was told that jinn, come and play with poeple. i dont kno if you kno but there's sumthing called ruqhya, where u make dua'a and a read certain quran verses, so the jinn, goes away.

* to make this clear, its rong to always say jinn, everytime u c sumthing, or u say a scary islamic story, its not always jinns. its like the jinns talkin to each other, and they say all these stories named human stories.  not all jinn are the same. the bad onces are called shaytani. so i hate it when we describe them like that, there creatures like us........

any ways, where was i....oh yea, so i went to c a sick person once in algeria, that had a jinn in her. well, after making dua'a and reading quran, we talked to the jinn in her, the jinn changed his voice. it gets weaker when u read quran to it.so the jinn told us his name i forgot, and told us y he went into the women, he said she was beautifull, and he couldnt resist, so we said the adhan and he finally went away.
*dont let the jionn come out of his or her eyes, or the person will go blind.

 thats it,
*any more stories?

Ok, here it goes. I experienced a Jinn and I didn't even know it. It really freaked me out, and became very upset and paranoid for a long time after that. I live in the USA and I went to Paki to get married. I stayed in Paki for about a year after I married and then I returned to USA. While I was in Paki a lot of strange things happened there. The house I lived in was 3 stories high. My in laws lived on the 1st floor, my husband and I on the 2nd floor, and no one on the third. Anyways, not to make it too long, I was laying on my stomach on my bed because it hurt, and all of a sudden I felt hands and a big wieght on my back. I thought it was my sis in law joking around with me and put her son on my back, so I smiled and was going turn around to see who it was...but I couldn't move at all. I tried so hard, with all my strength, but I couldn't even budge. I tried opening my eyes and they felt sooo heavy, I finally opened them real hard but all I saw was shadowy darkness(and this was in broad daylight by the way). I started getting so scared and was going to start reading some surahs but it felt like someone was squeezing my throat and not letting me recite anything. Finally, after a while, I literally felt someone get off my back, the hands lifted off my back. I opened my eyes right away and just layed there for a while, then sat up. My head felt so wierd, as if it was numb, you know the pins and needles feeling.  I got up, sooo shakey, and went downstairs. Some friend of my mother in law was over and had made me some clothes. When I went downstairs she came over and started talking to me and lifted up the shirt she had made for me, but I just looked at her in awe because I couldn't hear a thing. There was this wierd sssssssss noise in my years and my head felt so dizzy and numb. I just nodded my head and went to the other room and just sat with my head in my hands. After a while the numbness and noise in my ears went away. I got the phone and called my husband at his work and I started crying and told him something happened but I don't know what. I didn't go back upstairs that day. Actually, I didn't go back in my room for about 2 weeks. I didn't tell anyone in the house about it because my husband said everyone would just get scared. I slept in the living room for 2 weeks, and then my husband took me to his khalu(uncle). He takes Jinns off, and undos black magic and stuff. He is such a nice and simple man, always wears white. We went to him, and I told him about what happened. He just sat there and smiled. He didn't say anything, then his wife came into the room, and I started telling her about it. So after a while my husband turned to his uncle again, and asked him if there are any certain duas I could read for fear because I have been too scared lately and wont even go to my room.  He just smiled and said, don't worry, he won't bother you again. I looked at my husband, and I totally freaked out and said, what do you mean HE, there was someone there??? And he just smiled and repeated the same thing.

That was my story, I had some other experiences too after that, and before that which I realized later on. Anybody else got a true story?

I thought David Blain was pretty freaky too after seeing some of his stuff, but then we watched this show on FOX about 'Behind the Magic' and they showed how they did alot of those stuff using different people, different mechanisms and camera angles, different filmings and various tricks... so he's really not so freaky or jinnish anymore. I think he just has a good agent ;)

[slm],

I have a story about something that freaked me out real bad one night. I actually have several stories...Anyways, I don't know if it was a jinn or what, but it was something bad. I was living in Pennsylvania with a friend and her husband last year, and I used to be interested in ghosts and spirits and thigns like that. And one night I woke up from a sound sleep becasue I could feel something watching me, and knew something wasn't right. I was already freaked out, and was lying on my back. It was around 3 or so in the morning, and I turned slowly to look through the doorway in to the hall, and saw this [i]thing[/i] crouched down in the hall and was coming into my room!!!!  :o  :o I could just sense the evil in it, and got so freaked out!!! It looked like my friends husband crouched down, but at the same time it didn't look human, it was just full of evil, I was soooooooooo scared!!! At the time I was (supossed to be) a christian, and I remembered a prayer my sister told me to say when you felt something evil wanted to harm you, so I said it over and over and over and turned away to look at the window, and I couldn't go back to sleep.
But, then, a few days later I was talking with my friend and she said that night she woke up and saw a tall man standing in her door way watching her and her husband and he looked like her husband's brother!!!!  :o I'm getting freaked out remebering all this now,
Last thing I'm going to post about this, is I was there for a week alone, and with the 2 dogs. Well, every night, I knew someone or something was in that house with us. The dogs usually would sleep all night by the bed, but they were restless, and walking through the house, and when they were in with me, I could hear the floors creaking..And then, one night, I woke up because I could feel someone pressing me down, I opened my eyes and saw a shadow of a person standing up on my bed, and then walking out the room!
I was so scared of that house, and it still freaks me out. This was about a year ago too...Now I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight! Ok, that was my long post. I have other experiences, but those come to mind first. Someone told me once that certain people atract that kind of stuff, ghosts, spirits, other beings. Because not all people are able to see or sense them.

we  know  that  there  are  JINN., They  live  their way  and  we  do  ours. and  so  what  is  so  important  to  know  more  than  that ?  let  them  live  their  life  .. you  know ?what  makes  people   get  invloved  in  SHIRK ? it  is  the  jinn ( the  SHAITAN  part)
so we  better  stay  away  than  knowing  more  , some  weak  faithed  may  lose  the  path  if  they go  further  i n  the  JINN  Stories  .

some  wizards  make bussiness  through  JINN . helping  them  for  curing  people ( false)  , but  any way  even  their  help  is  useless ( and  shirk )   .so  i dont  see  any  thing  that  should  make  us  make  relation  with  them  and  or  try  to  know  accurately  what  these  creatures  look  like  or  are  .

They're made of fire as we're made of clay, they eat bones as we eat meat, they can change shape and some are muslim and some aren't like with us.
My grandmother told me that they were afraid of Sulaiman (AS). He ordered them to build the Masjid in Jeruselem, whilst they were building it Sulaiman (AS) passed away, but as he sat with his stick beneath his chin, the jinns didn't realise that he had passed away and kept on with their work Until the stick was eaten away by, I suppose they must have been termites or such, and when the stick fell away they realised Sulaiman (AS) had passed away and they ran off leaving their work partially completed....

I thank Allah I've never to my knowledge met a Jinn, it would probably finish me off....

Abi Ka`ab (ra) narrates: "I was in the presence of the prophet [saw], when an a`arabi came. he said that his brother was ill, & that the brother was under the influence of Jinn. The prophet asked to bring the brother to hin [saw]. That person was brought, & the prophet [saw] read some Quranic Ayahs over him &blew on him, & the man just got up as if he was never ill.

Abdullah ibn Masood (ra) narrates that whoever reads these following ayahs, Satan will not come near his houe, his family, or his possessions, & nothing untoward will happen. If these are read over a mentaly disturbed person, then he would also get well.

In addition there are other narrations which give the fadail of these ayahs most of which, muslims already know by heart, as they are very short, & often recited in the Salah.

references: Zawaid Masnad Ahmed ibn Hanbal, Mustadrak-e-Hakim, Sunan-e-Baihaqi, Sunan-e-Darimi, Tibrani (as mentioned in Tafseer Fathul Qadeer by Shaukani

The ayahs are:

start with aoozo-billahi-minas-shataan-ir-rajeem
Surah Fathiha (full surah, ayahs 1-7)
Baqarah (ayahs 1-5)
Baqarah (2: 255-257)
Baqarah (2: 284-286)
Aale-Imran (3:18)
al-A1araaf (54-56)
bani Isreal (110-111)
al-m`uminoon (116-118)
as-Saffaat (1-10)
ar-Rehman (33-35)
al-Hashr (21-24)
aj-Jinn (1-4)
Surah al-Kafiroon (full Surah)
Surah al-Ikhlas (full Surah)
Surah al-Falaq (full Surah)
Surah an-Naas (full Surah)

I have seen the same it in "Hasn-Huseen" (sorry if the name is misspelt).

try to do it bfore sleeping, think of everyone in your family, friends (& i think of the whole Ummah), & blow a little (what is called dam), & put them in Allah's care, & all will be fine, inshaAllah.

Some of my friends take out Jinns from people. I don't agree with their methods, but i occasionally go see the ppl coming for their treatment.

The basic problem is that we are removed from Deen far too much, so Satan manages to affect us.

one more thing for protection. My mother always reads ayatul Kursi (2: 255) on us before we leave her house, & so far, we have all come back to her in one piece. :)

If Ayatul Kursi is read after every fard Salah, there is nothing between the raeder & Jannah except death. (that is a Hadith).

Ayatul Kursi & the last three Surahs must be read before sleeping, & everything put in Allah's care.

I used to do it, & i have forgotten many times to lock the doors, but Allah protects, alHamdolillah. I must start again. Your topic reminded me of what i have forgotten. JazakAllah-u Khairan.

I had to write this, from reading posts some people would want to contact a Jinn - why???  :o  I have been told by a sheikh that to intentionally have contact with Jinn is Haraam.   >:(
Those Jinn who do contact us are evil, because for them to contact us is Haraam and they know it.  Some worship Allah, and those who are good would not dare try to make their prescence known to us because they know it is wrong.    I will try to find his evidences and post them up later,  Inshallah. I do not have them to hand, but had to post his opinion up, because this thread is getting sooo scary!!
