I wonder if this has been discussed before. This is a sort of extension of Bro. Nomi's post with regard to mixing; for all you doctors, med students and those in medical related professions. During your training and while you are working, sometimes you have to provide treatment to patients of the opposite sex. How do you feel about that and how do you deal with it?

That is an exellent question and relevent for us med-students!........
Honestly i do treat patients of the opposite sex but is that permitted in islam?...........i always thought it is because af the necessity to treat the ill.......did men not treat women in the time of Muhammad [saw]?
And treating patients of the other opposit sex recuires that you sometimes have to undress the patient and his AAWRA ......(private parts ) are exposed! :o......how do you deal with that??????

This raises another question.......for us women............how do we deal with the situation of delivering our kids and the doctor and nurse present are looking at your AAWRA and touching which is haram whether its a woman or man........ ??? ............

The question of mixing............when is it permitted to mix with the other sex not being MAHRAMS?........as far as i know it is permitted in 3 situations:

1.political affaires.........women and men during the islamic state did work together maintaining the political affaires.
2.Business affaires............trades and sales also permitted and took place between women and men during the islamic state.
3.The man and women planing their marital-life before getting maried even though many would say that its not permitted and recuires a mahram as the 3rd party......its recommended that a mahram is present so Shaitan would not be the 3rd party present between the man and woman.

But the question is treating patients of the opposite sex permitted in islam?............i have to search for how they dealt with this situation during the islamic state!...............did they have seperate hospitals?.....
