i went to a distant cousin's (girl) wedding. it was way too much !!!  you should have seen the way ppl dressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the jewlary they wore!!  so much GOLD! and the clothing! boy who r they trying to impress!?  and none, nobody! (beside my mother and me) were covering their heads...that was sad...
the way us, some Muslims present ourselves are just too much...  :(  
boys and grils were mixing and so much more...

i guess its not just the indo-pak wedding; its a typical weekend scenario from where i am. There are instances where some ladies would feel so embarrassed if she's not wearing as much jewellery as the other ladies out there!

don't they find it silly to put on all those gold around themselves.  ::)
seems to me like they are a 'walking gold shop' or something!  :P

but hey, that doesn't mean that ladies should not wear jewellery at all, but there's always a limit. Too much of these will only bring out riya' and at the same time, endangering themselves. (u just won't know if there's any lurkers that might be eyeing all those gold!) ...

as for the covering head part, there's quite a handful that observed it, but the number of those not covering their head always exceed who does, so yes, it is indeed sad.  

(guess that's why i am always trying to make excuses not to attend any unnesessary weddings!)
