Salaam ya'll Just curious..but does anyone know the origin of 786? (i.e. the so-called equavalence to Bismillah). I know people who'd fight you tooth-and-nail to defend the concept of 786...don't mean to offend anyone by asking  :)

[slm] it comes from assigning numbers to letters of the alphabet. It was a Jewish concept, they attributed magical powers to numbers & letters of the alphabet. If i remember correctly, they obtained this concept from the Assyrians while they were in exile to Babylon.
