[slm] I received the below hence sharing. In the name of Allah the most beneficent the most merciful Asalam-alekum, this site is quite good for understanding quranic arabic for english speaking people. The first 2 work books are free, download them and check them out. They are in PDF format. It costs then $9.95 for the other work books or $30.00 for a full tutorial and tests. www.islamicquranicarabic.com [wlm] Halima |

[slm] Shukran Jazilan for the web site. I downloaded lessons 1 & 2. Then I figured out that I needed the alphabet and pronounciation keys to wor through the lessons. So I came back here :-[ and lo and behold I found that too in Al-Taqwa Masjid & Library ;D, thanks to Arabic_Diamond's post with Jannah's post with pronounciations and phrases. I am finally ::) on y way to learning Quranic Arabic after 1 1/2 years of being a Muslimah. Have a couple [] [] [] or three on me! ;) [wlm] Yasmeena |

[slm] ;D Sis Yasmeena, some masjids offer programs (usually free) for learning to read Arabic. These classes are usually small (ours is... 8 people? or some other small number ;D) and composed of adult reverts, since most born Muslims can read Arabic by the time they're seven or eight. (Makes me feel dumb that I can't read it yet ::)) Anyway, I dunno if such a class would be available in your area. You should check with your masjid. ;D [slm] |
