| [slm] Does anyone know how to take backup of yahoo inbox? This virus totally fills up my account within minutes and i wonder how many important emails are bouncing from it !! So is there a way? any utility? has anyone tried using "Teleport" for this purpose? jazakumullah for any help. [slm] Asim Zafar. | [slm] yahoopops is great. Thanks dhameer. Warning to newbies: this is NOT a commercial software and as such has lots of bugs (just take a look at the posted bugs on their website). I had a zillion errors, but none fatal, with my outlook express client. My yahoo account had user-defined folders and the app couldn't take this fact gracefully. I ended up with lots of duplicates and some emails simply refused to be downloaded. It took some time to workaround the bug but Alhamdulillah, I didn't experience any corruption. Its a great app, but would take some time to mature and is dangerous in inexperienced hands. - super "triumphant" FOB |

So if you have delete options, you may lose mail - So use the "keep mails in the server " - Download 25 mails at a time - If you meet errors then just see where the download the mail.Like say it stops at 13, then 13th mail from top is the culprit, If the mail in question in not important you can delete it and restart the download - This of course leads to the dupluicate mails you mentioned. - You can delete mails from Yahoo through your browser at leasure 2) You can also configure it to send mail from e-mail reader viz. Outlook Express / Eudora - You will have to sepcify your password. 3) For your custom mail folders, you will have to specify it explictly under options. I admit I only have a big Inbox and the filters are set in the e-mail reader on my machine. [slm] |
