Bookmark-making ideas??

I think there was a post about making bookmarks, but I'm not really sure since I can't find it...
anyway... I've been wanting to make some bookmarks with some hadith/Quran quotes, and then I thought I'd put them in the Uni's prayer room for anyone to take one.
I've got a lot of marbled-patterned thick green paper, some glitter, a bunch of felt, and lots of colourful sewing threads. I really want to make good use of them, but I'm not quite sure how exactly!
???
also for the quote, I thought maybe they'll be on one side, and the other side will have more of the crafty /decorative stuff. Can anyone suggest some good quotes? I think the ones related to knowledge would fit nicely, dontcha think?

:)

here it is... it was in the poetry section.

I used pictures of beautiful scenery that I had taken as a background. I laminated them and added a tassel with a trinket. I thought they were beautiful. It was a set of 6.

But I do not think the Muslimah liked them, she never mentioned them...
After awhile I asked her if she got them and that the photos were shots I had taken. She did get them...but her response was kinda wierd.

Guess it is the last thing a college bound gal wants... :o

oh thanks sister Kathy. I knew there was a thread somewhere, but I just needed someone to point it out!
Now I've been thinking of using a graphics program (Adobe Photoshop) to make the bookmarks, then print it out on the marbled-papers. Unfortunately, I'm not feeling so artistic at the moment, hehe
I might post them on this board, get people's opinions (maybe let others print them out for themselves, who knows)
Oh, the muslimah probably did appreciate it, it's just that some people don't show it as much as we expect (I notice it all the time! or maybe it's just the things I do...) :)
But I am a bit worried if no one ends up wanting the bookmarks when I leave them at the prayer room :( but InshaAllah, I'm going to do this anyway :)

[slm] Sister

I made one for my daughter for her Quran recently.  I painted shells on the one side and printed out Hadith about "knowledge" for the other side...and had them laminated together.

I got the Hadith from Sister Jannah's site.

Alhumdulillah, with lamintaion at least all your hard effort lasts Insha Allah :)

Bookmarks are also a good idea for Dawah, you could have a few done with pertinent Hadith or Quran verses and leave them at the local library / school library for use....
