www.mpacuk.org As salaam alaikum So the bombs are going off in Iraq and we, the British Ummah are staring HELPLESSLY at our TV screens yet again. So the murderous Israeli killed an eight-year-old Muslim girl in Palestine last week and we stared HELPLESSLY at our TV screen. So the 'butcher of Gujarat' Narindra Modi came to London and we stared HELPLESSLY at the TV screen. I keep repeating the word HELPLESS because that's what I see around me. HELPLESS Muslims who have become HELPLESS because of laziness, fear, greed, incompetence, misguidance..... Do I need to go on? I saw this same helplessness when the first bombs were dropped on Iraq earlier this year. "What is this democracy huh?" I heard around me. "I marched in Hyde Park, I was one of the million people to stop the war but they didn't listen. Tony Blair and that Blackburn MP Jack Straw - bastard in power because of Muslim votes - went ahead with war anyway." "Uhh Uncle/brother," I said. "Umm you do realise they were planning for this war two years ago? The battle ships were being lined up six months ago. A million people on the eve of war were not going to stop the war. That was just a gesture of disapproval from the outside. A long walk on a sunny day was not going to stop the war that had been planned by politicians and military men a year ahead. Five years ahead. Ten years ahead by Zionist lobbyists." My words fell on deaf ears. "Bastards. They don't listen." Exasperated I rolled my eyes. "That's because WE Muslims don't play the system. This is a non-Islamic country and we HAVE to influence the political system to have our interests represented!!!!!!!! Nobody is ever going to hand anything to us on a plate. The enemies of Islam work overtime to ensure that." "So what do we do?" "You vote for the person who will be best at representing Muslim issues." Amazingly at this stage the conversation becomes too much for a lot of Muslim brothers. It's almost like their brains are closing in on them and a siren is going off screaming - 'politics move away; complicated; don't understand; boring.' "Yeah alright sis. When you're doing something, call us." Well guess what. Its time!! We need all the help anybody and everybody can give us. We're going up against the Vice chairman of Labour Friends of India and a pro-war Labour candidate Robert Evans. We don't believe he should be voted in by Muslims at all. A vote for him is to betray all Muslim interests therefore we have chosen to support Sarah Teather, the Lib Dem candidate who was against the war. MPAC have started the campaign and we are already hundreds of pounds into expense. 1) We had to buy the Brent East electoral register to identify Muslim households. This alone cost over 200 pounds. 2) We have printed thousands of leaflets to be posted in Muslim houses which have cost several hundred. 3) Our telephone canvassing starts tomorrow. MPAC staff will be calling Muslims in Brent and asking them not to vote for the Labour candidate. This will be done in their own time from their own homes from all over the UK at MPAC expense. PLEASE FUND THIS CAMPAIGN. Don't be a helpless Muslim anymore. If you can't give us your time to deliver leaflets and stand outside mosques in Brent, then at least donate some money. - We are working to prevent an Islamaphobe from entering the House of Commons. - We are working to stop another pro-Blairite from entering the house that rules us all. - We are working to put an MP in power that can represent Muslim issues. - In the end, our aim is simple: to defend the Ummah from one more Islamaphobe-would-be-MP.
