| [slm] so ok, our in order to increase our iman and ilm and stuff, our msa decided we should start doin student presentations instead of always callin a speaker in all the time. so now that ive worked up the courage to do a presentation if front of *everyone*, anyone suggest some topics that wud be motivational/somewhat spiritual and at the same time not over everyones heads. - we have a whole range of muslims in our msa- from the starter muslims, not so practicing muslims, fob muslims and some hardcore muslims ... so any suggested topics??? lemme kno tc wsalaamio ~razia |

| [slm] my msa started this exact thing last year. we would take turns for the week. after we took care of the "official" stuff in the first half of the mtg for msa... like plannin events etc, then the second half the person chosen for the week would present their topic.... heres the thing though... we also have a variety in mentality in our msa so whoever was chosen that week got to do a topic of THEIR choice.... why does this help.... becuase even though the "hardcore" muslim chick wears hijab and knows its importance etc...another "not so practising" one still wants to discuss it, this gives everyone a chance to discuss what is important to them :) we would start by the presenter presenting all the info they have searched about during the week on their topic, and if a fatwa was given the source had to come with it too!!! then we would discuss.. many times we chose topics that were contravertial, which kept good conversation goin.... topics came from a range of ideas from zakah to does Islam have a solution with many of the political contraversies goin on now??? it was really good doing this and inshallah we gonna pick up on it this year again.... wasalam nouha:) |
