[slm] A daughter of a friend (who is a non-Muslim) has picked Islam as a religion she would like to study in a semester-long religion project. She asked me for suitable books to read. I know what the suitable books to read are, but they are probably not suited for 11-year-old children. I looked at some books that are "elementary"--Idiot's guide to Understanding Islam came to my mind--but they represent some aspects and opinion that I disagree with. Anyway, do you have any suggestions of good books and resources for an non-Muslim child to read? By the way, this girl has travelled the world quite extensively, well-read for her age, and she had seen three documentaries on TV--"Inside Islam" (history Channel), "Muslims" (PBS) and "Muhammad" (PBS). She is pretty bright and open-minded like her parents and family. Jazaakumullah khairan for your suggestion, [slm] -A |
