[slm] Thought we would do some Ramadan Journals like we did last year.  Each person picks a day and they write a reflection about their day and how it was. Hopefully NOT something like:   7am i woke up, 9 am i vacuumed, 12 i started to cook, etc...!! Think of it as a REFLECTION not an itemized list or duty roster :) so it makes it more interesting for everyone to read!! So who's up for it??? I'd like to sign up for....  :-XNovember 21st ;) :-X interesting that there's going to be an eclipse on Nov 23rd!!! [slm]!! This sounds so cool  :) Insha'Allaah I'd like to do one.  I wasn't going to at first, but I think it'd be good to, and I may be forced to really dwell on my experience. So u can sign me up for any date, I'm not fussed and I don't want to deprive anyone of a particular date that they had wanted  :) wa'salaam

[slm] Its finally coming up to my favourite time of the year..... I love Ramadan its sooo cooooool not just in atmosphere but i find i am always even more aware of my deen than at other times. I'd love to do the first day of Ramadan please if no one else minds. Jazaks wa salaams T

If that date is after Ramadan or is taken just pick me one day in Nov (5 th or  10th or 15th)

wlm, sister fozia, no one is asking anyone to write a pulitzer prize winning essay. ;)  just write about your day and the things you do in your community and your part of the world as if you were sending an email to all of us.:) what's interesting to us is the different things people do and their insights.

[slm] Just pick a day and put the date here... Then whoever else posts can look at the whole thread to see what dates are taken...and if u really want a certain date someone else has then madina message them and make a deal!! So pick a DATE! dont' just say u wanna do one

I was asking if the day of the eclipes was during Ramadan and if so I would like that day if I may? I was talking birthdays on my post of dates, my requested day was Nov 23rd if still Ramadan and 5th or 10th or 15th as a back up date if the 23rd of Nov was taken or not Ramadan. Sorry if my b-day post confused anyone.   When does Ramadan start here in the US? If Monday on the otherside of the world and the US being a day behind does it start here tomorrow? Twighlight as in dusk? Evening?  I know dawn and dusk but not sure if Twighlight is am or pm   :D Please put me down for Nov 23 or if not Ramadan still then any date is fine with me. Preferably later in Ramadan. Thank you

Thank you Opps ok I re-read your post and see the dates, now tell me please if Ramadan starts Monday in Saudi and that is Sunday in the US do we wait a day later (Tues) or the day before (Sun) This date line stuff is confusing  :D

I would like to sign up but there is nothing of importance that I can contribute/add/share because of work.  I wil be working through out Ramadhan, meaning arriving at work from 8:00 a.m. and getting back home at 5:30 p.m.  That is one hour before iftar. So, spending all day in the office does give one anything of importance to share.  Apart from fasting, the day will be boring with work related issues and nothing else. Looking forward to enjoying other sisters and brothers' worthwhile experiences. Halima

[/quote] Ohh don't say that sis Halima! If you can find away of making any of your day's tasks Allah-orientated, however slight they seem, then of course it will be worthwhile! If Allah is not ashamed of striking parables as small as a gnat (see Surah Baqarah: 26), or even smaller than that...then surely we can find His signs and lessons even in the most "boring" places to talk about and share? :) Someone told me that if ever life begins to seem "boring", it's usually [i]we[/i] who are so, not life... Anywayz, as a fan of your often thought-provoking posts, here's hoping you might change your mind ;) Wasalaam PS Consider me "signed up"...but can't choose a day until I figure out my timetable (and therefore my chances of Internet access) tomorrow inshallah...
