jeevan tv (satellite channel): Snehasagaram : ramaan 1 Malabar Vision’s ‘Snehasagaram’ will start on Ramadan 1 [press release] Dubai, Sep 23, 2003: Aimed at creating an intellectual revival using the modern media, Malabar Vision announced the launch of ‘Snehasaagaram’, a 30 days TV program to be aired during the holy month of Ramadan. Talking to the media persons at the conference, CK Abdul Majeed, the chairman, and Zainudhin Cheleri, the director, explained that a series of cultural and intellectual programs have been lined up to educate and entertain the Keralite Diaspora. The brochure was released by Syed Basher Ali Shihab, a prominent personality from Kerala well-known in political and cultural circles. The program begins transmission at 10.15pm on Jeevan TV, the satellite channel that is increasingly becoming popular among the Keralite audience. The 30 – minute show will feature cultural dialogues, lectures by prominent personalities, interviews, historic context of renaissance of Kerala Muslim community, perspectives on the progress and empowerment of women, reflections on Arab civilizations, Family Quiz and other cultural programs. ‘Snehasaagaram’ is planned to be very different from familiar programs appearing on other channels. The program will embrace the developments in Kerala’ socio-religious heritage and the revivalist attempts in the Art, Literature and Media. The team is headed by group of journalists including P. Ahmed Shareef, Zainudheen Cheleri, Sidddiq Nadwi Cheroor and Ahmed P. Siraj. The special programs, which includes direct interaction with the audience, and reflections on the realistic aspects of life are sure to be a hit with the viewers. Updates and schedule about the program will be posted on Jaihoon.com, the official website for the show. There are also prizes to be won during the month-long show. The organizers also said that opportunities would be made to include prominent personalities from the Keralite expatriates. |
