Assalamu Alaikum;
MANAGING STRESS IN LIFE.....CONT

3. The package iman and 'Amalus'salih

"And obey Allah and his apostle;and fall into no disputes, lest you lose your heart and your power depart; And be patient and persevering: for Allah is with those who patiently persevere"(Surah Anfal;46)

Note that the Righteous and non- righteous,the mu'min and non-Mu'min,both share in the ability to be brave and caurageous,and in the possession of the natural defence mechanisms.The Mu'min however distinguishes himself by the strength of the Iman in his heart,by the strong character he displays,by his absolute trust in Allah,and by the hope he cherishes of the reward from his Lord Most High.

These are qualities that raise the Mu'min's particular brand of bravery and courage to the highest degree,making less the impact of fear upon him in a way that difficult situations become easy to handle and manage the stress of daily activities.
Allah says "If you are suffering hardships,they are suffering similar hardships;but you have hope from Allah while they have none."(Surah Nahl;104)

The Mu'min has position himself to be directly in touch with the exceptional relief and assistance from Allah and also a special re-enforcement from him,Glorified and exalted.These are forces, which render tragedies dysfunctional,from the book of (AL-WASA-MUFIDAH LIL-HAYAT-AL-SA'IDAH by Allaama Sheikh Abd-Rahman Nasr Sa'di)

Rememberance of Allah (Dhikr) is also one of the greatest means to expanding the breast and giving the mind peace and tranquility is engaging much in the rememberance of Allah.This has been seen to provide an amazing impression in the way it opens the heart,gives it joy,and drives away its sorrows and anxieties.Allah (SWA)said;"Listen and be clear! by the Remembrance of Allah are hearts content and happy" (Surah Ra'ad;28)

Dhikr has great impact in achieving the most cherished goal (peace of mind)due to its special nature and for what the worshipper looks forward to in Honour and Reward.The individual who practices dhikr in full consciousness of the spirit recognises what is meant here.

The prophet may he be blessed read the following Du'a most often in his life "OLord, Your mercy do I seek;do not therefore leave me all by myself,even for a twinkle of the eye;and make right for me all the affairs;there is no God but You" (Abu Dawud) This Dua if done well with a concious heart and honest intention,with faith placed in the Almighty and the effort applied,anxiety will then be seen transformed into some confidence and peace at heart to do away with tension,pressure or worry in life.

4.To assume the worst and be ready for such
In a crisis situation,one of the most excellent ways to relieve apprehension and disquiet is to presume the worst possible end result and then to prepare the mind for acceptance,if at all the worst happens.Having prepare the mind,all necessary effort should then be extended towards relieving that which is already in sight.These two simultaneous conducts,of being ready to accept the worst,and employing all the best to alliviate that which is within means, erode worry and anxiety,in a way that releasing so much energy for that which is useful and/ or for protecting against the harmful becomes very easy indeed for the individual.

In the event of incidences of fear,diesease,deprivation,or loss of something or someone close to the heart,the servant of Allah is expected to display a calm heart, a resolute spirit and a firm determination to face even the worst. No doubt, making up the mind to face even the worst, if at all it happens,weakens the pressure due from difficult situations.The weakened pressure acts to make the difficult easier to handle,and especially in cases where necessary efforts and channelled to counter the difficulties,in accordance with ability. Such keen resolve essentially diverts energy,from the dwelling anxiety into the crisis,to a renewed vigour and strength ready to face the crisis in good stead.

It should be stated that all these attempts towards achieving peace in the mind,the individual does completely relying on the ultimate power of Allah Most Glorified and Exalted.This frame of mind has proven to have a great impact for the fact that the individual set his aims towards rewards that accrue not only in this life but also in the life beyond "And if any one of you puts his trust in Allah, sufficient is Allah for him" (Surah Talaq;3).
Bissalam.
