In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Gibraltar Educational Initiative is pleased to announce new faculty additions and our fall class schedule.  For more info, email us at info@gibraltarinitiative.org.

Al hamdulillah, we are pleased to announce that Sidi Walead Muhammad has come on board as a teacher for Gibraltar Educational Initiative.  Sidi Walead has recently returned to the States from several years abroad studying Arabic and Islamic sciences in the Middle East.  He is an excellent and qualified teacher, al hamdulillah, and we are very blessed to have him in our area.  Sidi Walead will be teaching the following courses, insha'allah, starting at the beginning of October:

Saturday Classes (Saturday, October 11 thru Saturday, December 6):  Saturday classes will begin with a special breakfast and introductory session on Saturday October 11th at 10am at The New Brunswick Islamic Center (www.nbic.org) at 167 Remsen Avenue in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Course One:  A Commentary on the Abridgement of Sahih Bukhari (with special reference to Ibn Abi Jamra's, Bahjat al-Nufus sharh mukhtasar Sahih al-Bukhari) by Ustadh Walead Mohammed

Course Two:  Discerning the Eye's Delight: The Life of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)
(a study of the famous sirah text, Qurrat al-Absar) by Ustadh Walead Mohammed

*All subsequent classes will be held at the Paul Robeson Cultural Center (http://prcc.rutgers.edu/prcc/) on the Busch Campus of Rutgers University.

Registration will be available on the web at www.nbic.org, or on site at the actual class sessions.  suggested donation for both classes is $55, not including class materials.  **No one will be turned away for lack of funds.**  There is a short break in between sessions.  Individuals may opt to register for one or both courses.

Wednesday halaqa (Wednesday, October1--ongoing):  Tafsir and Group Study of the Qur'an.  These sessions will be held at the New Brunswick Islamic Center, 167 Remsen Ave, New Brunswick.  Sessions will begin after 'isha prayer (congregational prayer is at 8:30).  Join us for salat and the halaqah afterwards.  There is no fee or formal registration for this course.

Mini Course:  Fiqh of Siyam (Fasting) (Sunday, October 12 and Sunday, October 19).  Sessions will be held at the New Brunswick Islamic Center from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.  With Ramadan scheduled to begin around October 26, this is an excellent opportunity to explore the details of this important pillar of Islam.  There is no formal registration or fee for this course.
