Finally, she's arrived

Salaams, Allah be praised during the good times and bad times. On Friday 7:16pm to be precise a new arrival came into our family. Yes my wife has given birth to a baby girl, weighing in at 7.4 and above all she's just as beautiful as her elder sister. Mom and daughter are doing well. Please remember xxxx (haven't decided on names yet) in your duas to ensure that she grows up and follows Allah upon the Quran and Sunnah. If you have any suggestions on names let me know.... Ps I forgot to ask what is Fatima going to be Baji, Api, Apa....... or something else.....this is important too as it tends to stick Ever since Attia was born i have been know as baji by everyone, friends my parents and even my grandfather when he was alive call me baji..... just another thing to think of....... :D  For me it seems strange now (after so many years of being baji) if anyone especially younger than me in the family calls me by my name.

"Nomi bhai" so our litle fatima ( She is mashaAllah too intelligent for her age ) sometimes calls me the same :( and when i tell her to call me "mamoo" she laughs in a smirky way, calls me "Nomi bhai" a coupla times and then has mercy on me and says "ok mamoo" .. grrr .. I say "Api" is cute, no?

[slm] mabrook brother hanif - may Allah 'azza wa jal, make both your daughters the coolness of your eyes, and guide them both to the right path, and make them strong in the deen. :-X How about: Maryam or Khadijjah - I've always loved these names, and they are wonderful examples to follow.  Or how about Ruqayyah? The whole 'baji' / 'apa' things important, now when I have to introduce Twilight to my friends do I introduce her as 'Baji' or 'This is my sister XXXX' *sigh* ::) decisions, decisions..... [wlm]

Salaams, After many discussions, sighing and researching we've finally come up with a name. My daughters name is...                                           Hafsa bint Hanif. Based upon the wife of our Prophet  [saw] and also the daughter of Hazrat Umar R.A. .  She used to fast throughout the day and worship at night, had strong role models in her life, her dad and her husband Allah be pleased with them. As for her husband what can I say that we don't already know?. In short her husband was the man that paved the way for women's rights. Before the introduction of Islam, women's rights were violated and still are today. Those with real understanding of Islam would know that the 'best amongst you are the kindest to their wives'. I admire her father greatly Hazrat Umar R.A., a leader of great moral and religious values, strong in deen and not afraid of saying the truth even at times of crisis. However, a humble leader, a great military planner and a man who would go out in the middle of the night to see how his citizens are doing. Sigh if only we had leaders like Umar R.A. today the world would be a different place. Anyway make dua that she becomes the coolness of my eyes. Thanks to all of you. Salaams Abu Hafsa
